2. If it takes 5 machines 5 minutes to make 5 widgets, how long would it take 100 machines to make 100 widgets?

3. In a lake, there is a patch of lily pads. Every day, the patch doubles in size. If it takes 48 days for the patch to cover the entire lake, how long would it take for the patch to cover half of the lake?




Just give me your answers, I don't care. It's like supposed to be the world's shortest IQ test or something. Supposedly most people who answer 1 wrong are just impatient assholes. I'm an impatient asshole, my first answer was wrong, but then I slowed the fuck down (not too much) and got it right.

1 is kind of interesting. I wonder what sort of mental representation of quantities one should have in order to automatically jump to the right answer. If anyone has that, I would be curious to hear about it

Ball = A

B + A = 1.10
B = A + 1

therefore
(A + 1) + A = 1.10 [solve for A]

yeah my brain wants to say 0.10 but the math says something else. Why is that?

All three questions are talked in Think Fast and Slow. I did first wrong. Did any of you managed to finish this book? It get more boring with every page. I stuck on 116 or smth for month.
