Who plays? Maybe we should get some online games going? Tourney? The great google debate at the moment is whether chess is a sport; ah, needed that laugh. If a tourney bracket was created, who would play? Back by popular demand - really? no - here is Michael Buffer.

I used to play, but i found other games much more entertaining *cough* starcraft *cough*. Who knows maybe we could get one going.

If this thread gathered eight or sixteen interested people, I would be willing to find a site and set up some games. Although for eight people the winner would only play three games. Also, how would the bracket be done without some preliminary rankings? Ideally, the two best players would square off in the final. The bragging rights for intpforum chess champion might be a dubious distinction, but I would wear that sucker with pride at the bottom of my signature!

I played on a team in middle school and haven't played since with the exception of a few isolated matches, which is a pity since I really enjoyed it. I'm extremely out of practice, but according to Blot's link I rank around 1600. I don't really recall if that's decent or terrible. I'm definitely interested in an INTPf tourney though.

The only thing i'm worried about is that duration of the matches. Too much hesitation and second-guessing courtesy of our Pness will make the game's a drag to spectate.

I've tried to get people to play me here before (used to have the link and my screen name in my signature) but only ever had one person come and challenge me.

I'm not all that great (usually hover around a 1250-1350 rating), but I enjoy playing and will take all challenges, regardless of how good you are.

If a tourney is setup, I'll join (just so long as I don't have to do any of the bracket work).
