I used to do kung fu Regularly at a local school and theh suddenly i got wierd knee pain that was never expalined ,

it seemed to clear up and then i tried going back, then i got made redundant and had to quit to save monies,

now another month on i have securred a new job but im unsure if i want to return, i did enjoy it but , i cant seem to get back into my old mindset. im always picking up and dropping things , (typical intp apparently) but i thought this was somthing i could stick with ,

any advise to stop me constantly picking up and dropping things would be great it really frustrates me as i think ill ever get to a really great level on anything.

thx

Yeah that happens for me. I just have a sort of rotation between practicing and making music, painting, and whatever computer related work. Usually I change between then every couple weeks or so.

Re: Cant Get Started

Some of this I think is just Pness, and you won't probably succeed at getting rid of that. If it's starting to bother you or affect your success in your endeavors, however, that's when I think it starts to be an actual problem that you want to try to work on. I can't say much about how to do that beyond just doing it, frankly. Constantly floundering about how to stop procrastinating (which is basically what this is, even though it seems like some of it isn't actually mandatory stuff) will not get you to stop procrastinating. So you basically have to suck it up and start. Once you start you're started.

The one recommendation that I can give is to try to avoid lots of available stimulation when you want to work, because although starting is hard, starting AGAIN is even harder than that (supposedly something as simple as checking Facebook steals like 20 minutes of full productivity). So if you spend a lot of time surfing the internet, get away from the computer to work in some way. If you're coding or doing something that otherwise requires a computer, make it difficult to get at the internet in some fashion (something that will make it take at least a couple minutes to get back online, like forwarding your connections to another IP or turning your router off and putting it in a closet.

I empathize, by the way, especially since I'm procrastinating right now and procrastinated to get in the situation I'm in now (big project that I need to finish this afternoon, period).
