Let's just say "Politically Motivated" and blame it on politicians in general.

Sure, why not; religion is as political as anything else can be. Might as well. :D

But seriously, I only like to blame politicians when they obviously fuck something up they were supposed to be taking care of. That whole Lybia thing, the investigation by Congress, still isn't dealt with and as I periodically follow it they never really get any direct answers. Clinton's defense was to get angry at those who question her and justify everything she said as an empathetic response to give people conclusions/answers with what little information they might have had at the time. And maybe that's true and that's the way she is, but it's hard to trust people like that because they jump to conclusions. And if that's true, maybe she'll learn from this.

Based off this article http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-boston-suspects-20130428-dto,0,15030.htmlstory

They came from Chechnya, which was invaded by Russia. And they got refugee status in the US.

Then later the older brother started getting religious and got into eastern religion and equated the Afghanistan and Iraq wars with what Russia did to his home country and what the Jihadists are fighting against. And so I guess he saw the US then as just as bad as the Russians. The Russians supposedly had information about this as well, telling the FBI that he was a potential terrorist risk. I guess the FBI didn't have enough to go on to believe he would be.

And then boom. So does that make him a Jihadist, a Jihadist Sympathizer, or domestic terrorist? Personally, I'd say his motivations weren't much different from a Jihadist, but since he wasn't linked with any Jihadist group, I guess that makes him a Sympathizer?

I would say they were sympathizing with the Iraq and Afghan people most of whom are not Jihadist.

Jihadist believe that all none Muslims should be killed. This doesn't actually seem to reflect there motives they believed the the U.S. (not all none Muslims) should be punished for the Iraq and Afghan Wars. While there action may be similar who they are targeting is what makes them Jihadist or not. They were targeting U.S. citizens some of who were bound to be Muslim themselves. (I heard of at least 2 none related Muslims hurt in the explosion). While there religious faith may have motivated there sympathy it doesn't really seem to be the active motive in the actions they took.

However, I should point out that kill and injuring innocent people to stop a war is insane. However, it often happens every time we find ourselves in war. Normally not to this scale though.
