I don't know what to choose. Anyone study any of this? Whatcha think about it? Why did you choose what you did? What do you like? What do you dislike? Tell me anything about it, perhaps it'll help me decide. Do you work, are you still in school?

I figure being out in the trees climbing after birds would be fun, evolution, behavior etc. Animals fascinate me. On the other hand, I'm find genetics very fascinating as well. Looking through a microscope manipulating tiny matter seem like fun. Health and medicine, immune system- good stuff.

I just got a place on biology on ntnu. I was considering to make this thread, as I don't know what I should do. It was my third option. I'm missing the main project on a masters degree in construction and materials, but there has been some changes so can not get back in. I would have to do it all over again.

Some of this seems like the scientific aspect of psychology, behavior? I have a lot of strange ideas about this and find it interesting, mostly.

I also like the idea of genetics. But perhaps that is a bit like macro photography? I think this is fun on occasion, but prefer making landscape pictures. So not sure if my interest is strong enough in those hidden worlds.

I think what draws my attention is the potential to discover something new. We build all sort of things, we can probably clone a human. But to actually create something alive? No, not yet. We just use what is already there. What is this stuff that make us? I would like to know. I don't aspire to make an evolved Frankenstein monster. But I do suspect this kind of study could fit me better then what I've done previous. Make me see things more clearly?

But don't know what to do either(try doing this study at all), it was biology I got into, it seems I can take direction biotechnology later if I get that far. It's a long study. I'll be old before I finish.

There will always be new things to research and study in pure biology. But biotech is likely to get more attention and funding for being the next cool thing.

Anyone else have anything to say about any subject within the biosciences? I'm sometimes considering chemistry, but imagine it would be too difficult to keep my interest.

I think that if you choose biotechnology you won't get out of the lab that often.
