Goldeneye. I don't even like FPS, but Goldeneye.

I think if you were to look at it objectively, Goldeneye. I'm not sure, but I think it was the highest selling N64 game and also had the highest ratings consistently. Plus, it made multiplayer FPS what it is. It puts Halo to shame.

I enjoyed staying up long nights playing GoldenEye with my friends. Land mine matchs, we somehow glitched them in midair. haha it was funny.

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

No contest.

But honorable mentions go to Super Mario 64 and Goldeneye.

Ocarina of Time, Super Smash Bros, Mario Party, and Perfect Dark.
Perfect Dark had a terrible storyline, but the multiplayer was amazing, imo. My sister and I still play it.

Oh Super Smash Bros for second place. Ocarina can suck it. It was all about the hype. I quit playing it after a day.

I have to disagree. I remember the music resonating in my dreams. It was some simplistic, amazing melodies. =) the game play was pretty average, but it was one of my firsts for all of its perks.

Agreed, Goldeneye best ever. I also enjoyed Guantlet Legends as an honorable mention.

You made me remember the music, now it's stuck in my mind.

1 OoT, 2 Perfect Dark, 3 Goldeneye, 4 Super Smash Brothers, 5 Mario Kart (hey, it still is the best racing game to date on all platforms!)

...Perfect Dark.

LOL the story wasn't literary genius, indeed. But it was as entertaining as FPS go... I mean, what'd you expect about a story involving a gray alien called Elvis that screams "kiss my alien butt!". It was all good, Rareware-style humor.

...And the music was great too!

The multiplayer beats the crap out of Goldeneye hands down (being an upgrade to the engine and all); even if it got choppy framerates very often (after all it was really pushing the boundaries of the N64). I used to play it obsessively, even managed to get #1 rank...

EDIT: so sad they completely botched the "prequel"
