Recently iv had one subject i just cant push out of my mind...RAVING!

Its the best thing in the world imo and i just cant get enough of it. At first i went for my enormous love of music and substances but soon i realised theres so much more to it. Its like therapy.

Never in my life have i been so open about myself, my thoughts and feelings...to complete strangers that by the end of the night are your family. I know anyone who hasnt been raving will either think im crazy or not INTP but you feel a closeness to these people that is unmatched.

Although at first i rejected and resisted it, my mind telling me its wrong, but once i stopped resisting i was met with something indescribeable and to tell you the truth, down right frightening. I was sharing, i was listening, i was....feeling.

I dont quite know what the point of this thread is, make of it what you will.

I do, however, urge everyone here to attend a rave at some point in your lives and really let go, it really gives you something to analyse for months after, i can tell you.

P.S I take MDMA at raves, obviously the open-ness isnt natural

Thoughts? Experiences? Questions?

Also, for those of you wondering, bass face is a very screwed up facial expression people on MDMA pull when dancing to music because of the intensity of the experience, almost like a face of pure rage, only feeling the opposite entirely

Ah, that explains a lot. :P

The electronic scene in London interests me, based on a friend's recommendations. There's a few clubs I'd like to see at some point, but I guess I just don't have a real desire for clubbing or raving. I doubt it's all-access barred to members of this forum, though. (:

Haha :p

Yea it is pretty great here, almost makes up for everything else being grey and depressing :p
Where abouts are you from?

Im not a fan of clubbing really, rowdy drunk meatheads all trying to out-pose each other to gain the females approval..not my scene, raving is entirely different though, a much more friendly vibe rather than competitive :cat:

Never been yet, but it's something I'd like to do.

Oo banging bit of hardstyle, i like it.

If you get the opportunity, really go for it man. I know the thoughts a bit daunting, loads of people in close proximity, dancing and talking but trust me just go for it.

Also iv realised why its so great talking to people in that situation, because although they may be strangers you skip all the bullshit small talk and get down to business about ideas, life, concepts etc...great stuff man

Yeah, 1997 was a good year.

What's that folk or whatever song about the morning and the emptiness of raves and stuff...

I've been in the scene going on nearly 7 years now, best thing I've ever done in my life.
It's funny my earlier experiences with MDMA how it really strengthened the E and F. Made more friends that summer than I ever had throughout my lifetime. Good times :smoker:

Definitely agree man, it breaks down the walls of your mind and allows you to actually 'experience' whats happening around you rather than slowly processing it if that makes sense.

What music are you into man?

Trance mainly.

Thats cool iv never been to a trance rave, mainly house, dnb and dubstep over here.

I do wish there were variation in the music tbh, would love to go to a trance/hardstyle/happy hardcore rave

You'll be hard pressed. It's all about that bass music nowadays. It is after all what the mass wants to listen to.

What clubs have you hit up being that you are in the mecca of it all?

Thats true, its a shame really.

Well to be honest with you not that many, i tend to go for the more 1 night set ups in fields and warehouses rather than ones held at permanent establishments. Although iv been to Hidden, Elektrowurks (spelt something like that) and a few less ravey clubs. Im dying to go to Fabric (voted best club in the world a few years back and has been coming in 2nd since, although it a permanent rave not a club) which is only an hour or so away from me.

I wasnt aware that London was so known for the electronic scene, i was aware there's events pretty much every night but i thought this was the norm for most areas?

Dont get me wrong i do love dubstep with a passion, i like drum and bass but i dont have a library if you get me, i do love it at a rave though. All about house my friend ;) Same man i produce dubstep and house mainly, what programme do you use?

Oh believe me you can find anything here you just have to know the right people, its not always easy to find though. (I wouldnt go screaming that you make them over the internet although id like to know how ;P)

Ah man i tried 2c-e/i once (not sure which one it was)...that was an awesome night! Had the worst headache of my life the morning after though

There are several big producers and DJ from the UK. Andy Moor, Above & Beyond, and Pete Tong come to mind. You guys also have BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. I've heard of Fabric and there's also the infamous Ministry of Sound and Gatecrasher. You are in the EDM mecca as far as I'm concerned :D

Where I'm at, we get about 1-2 big events each month, everything else is just resident DJs playing a club night or a bar night. There are no radio stations here dedicated to EDM. Granted I'm not in a huge city like Los Angeles or New York, but from partying around the states, Salt Lake has a pretty strong scene as far as it goes in the US.
