I wrote an intelligent post and then I lost it.
Grrr.
To cut straight to the point I think Ultron in the upcoming Avengers 2 movie isn't a rouge Javis (Ironman's AI assistant) but rather a human being who has successfully "jumped the flesh" and gone digital. It's a crackpot theory I admit and it's based on what he says in the extended trailer about tying people up in strings, the extinction of the human race and finally "there are no strings on me".
It's the freedom motif of being without strings and the fact that Ultron appears to change bodies throughout the movie, it suggests he exists not as a physical entity but rather a program that can be transmitted, copied, edited, etc.
This could still be Javis but the sudden (proverbial) change of heart would seem strange and plotting to digitise everyone makes a great utopia-justifies-the-means villain, it would also explain why Thor and the Hulk seem hostile to Tony Stark in the trailer, maybe he isn't against being digitised?
