Avatars

A couple of people have avatars I don't want to look at. Is there any way to block a user's avatar? I don't necessarily hold it against their posts, so I don't want to ignore them all together. Or should we set standards for avatars?

lol Good point. There are certainly some standards. I'm sure full nudity wouldn't pass, among other things. Obviously you could just block all images on your browser, but that may seem a bit drastic. hmmm, maybe you could just politely ask Red Toad to change it.

I also think this would be kinda cool. If it's not possible now, could it be added when the forum is updated? Signatures would be kinda cool, too, because I remember someone a while ago (forget who) had a flashing, seizure-inducing one that gave me a headache while i tried to read their post. I know you can disable seeing them altogether (signatures... I dunno about avatars), but the choice to remove only certain ones would be cool, too.


I hope no one's seriously dumb enough to blame Ulysses for Toad's avatars. That really should go without saying, but...

looks like a nice shelter to get down under when the wind is blowing particularly cold

I can see the one in the post just fine, but they are the same picture.

If you're using Firefox, you can block specific avatars using the Adblock add-on available here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

Once installed, right click on the avatar you wish to block, copy its location and then manually add it to Adblock's filter list (tools, Adblock preferences).

No, it's called broadband, and I suppose it is, in that it doesn't tie up the phone line... It's as fast as dial-up on a good day. If it rains I'm just screwed.
