...to rest my weary head.

I found a great description of these forums while lurking through it, likening it to an alley where some bums go to warm up after the bustle and alienation of the city. I thought that was great.

I find we are not all that similar, but perhaps just more similar to each other than anybody else. I don't necessarily see my own commonality with many of the things characterized as INTP, but I see enough to engender a feeling of solidarity.

So, I don't like talking about myself unless prompted to, because I feel like that its too self-indulgent, but whatever.

I think I'm INTP by my actions, or lack of actions. It took me six years to graduate university, after changing majors frequently, dropping/ failing classes due to lack of interest, lack of will. But I finished, majoring in Anthropology which is a diverse discipline that matched my vague interests and epistemology. I also minored in English and Linguistics and I have predisposition to language.

Now I don't really know what to do with myself, never really did.

I actually probably prefer doing something physical for a living, I like using my body and I NEED to play sports, which I think is atypical of INTP's. Maybe it has something to do with a more balanced N/S. I don't know. Maybe doing something immediate allows a rest from thinking.

Anyways, I have no idea if I'll post with any frequency here, or just lurk, I find this forum is the least conclusive and most convoluted place I've seen, which is fine with me,

Welcome, from a fellow newb/lurker.

Your college experience and sounds a lot like sounds like what mine is turning into, honestly. Never mind your unwillingness to talk about yourself (though in my case it's more I can't think of what to say about myself)

Welcome Iuanes.
May I at first ask about your avatar?
What is it?
Those colors remember me of those old computers of the 80'thies.
Spectravideo,Sinclair ZX Spectrum,C64 etc.
Or did you just use Paint?

I dislike this avatar, because in the second and third shades, a slightly different shade, in a thin vertical line is present, whereas in the first it is either non-existant, or invisible.

I am annoyed by this fact, because much like Santa claus and Jesus, I can't tell whether it's non-existant or just evasive!

3 bands of blue colour made in paint.

I have no idea why those thin lines are there. They just showed up. Maybe its an optical effect or a glitch in the matrix.

It could very well be a property of both Santa Claus and Jesus to be sometimes imaginary and sometimes just evasive.

Convoluted of course, it reflects our thinking, or perhaps rather this convolution is actually a well designed maze, to test candidates for the next level - the Inner Circle. Of course, we do lose a few in the Stacks/Archives on occasion, but every good experiment begins with excess subjects/participants so that the stats in the results will have a high enough N for sophisticated analysis.

Welcome volunteer!

Welcome to the forum. Indeed, the OP's analogy likening us all to bums and the lack of complete affinity among us is accurate , I've found.

The default image quality of paint tends to cuase such distortions.

Interesting fact: the human eye is hardwired to exaggerate the contrast of hard lines. When series of lines like this are presented, where the two values meet, the lighter value is lightened and the darker darkened. This occurs due to the neurotransmitters of the eye, not the brain.

I have been trying to put this thought into words for day. So thanks for that :)

What's the best way I could respond to this?....

Thanks for that interesting fact. It was...interesting...though something tells me that someone on this forum may have read this and been like

"Dude...I already knew that..."

Just my thoughts, still a cool fact though.
