Objects in the mirror might look closer than they
The only positive validation for a feeling of non conformity has to come from the outside.
If not your just probably trying to feel better by comparing yourself to the bad side of average humans which only brings more confrontation, i mean good intentions are ok but they haven't proved anything in reality yet. Have they?
So by itself being a nonconformist sucks.

I guess it depends on how strictly you keep the definition to its extremity.

We're all both conformist and non-conformists. It's a matter of situation and perspective. But of course there are those who feel a stronger desire to fit in and are more vulnerable to peer pressure, than others. I would say I'm relatively good at being critical and maybe what you would call a non-conformist on many occasions.

I'm so non-conformist that I didn't even vote in the polls!

Life pretty much hands you your hat if you don't conform (as an individual anyway) yet I constantly battle to conform. It's like I enjoy getting my butt kicked. Things get so convoluted, I don't even know what I am supposed to conform to anyway (gender roles for example), but otherwise you pay the price right? And for what? Oh yeah, a sense of peace. A lonely, miserable sense of peace. Cheers!

I do what I want, in general -- although if it's something I don't care about and conforming will make my life easier, I'll just toe the line so I can be free to focus on the stuff that matters.

(Pick your battles.)

I'm so non-conformist that I didn't even vote in the polls!

Neither did I, although I think not voting is more fashionable on an INTP site. :phear:

I shoud have read the description first but I think my answer is still valid. I don't conform in thought but I do in action if that makes sense. Perhaps that fits with TiFe.

I try to be a conformist. But I'm not sure I'm all that good at it.

It's not that long ago my own brother told me it was very odd that non had yet murdered me as I had zero respect for "social constructs and traditions". I got flabbergasted, as I was just trying to help with what I said.
