Are INTPs fit for becoming a comic writer

SMBC and XKCD are both very likely by INTPs, comics like Girl Genius and Schlock Mercenary as well, heck Dresden Codak stars an proclaimed INTP heroine, I'd say most good webcomics are by INTP writers, which is not to say being an INTP automatically makes someone a good comic writer...

I think Phil Foglio (Girl Genius) types himself as INTJ.
I met him once. Funny guy. Nice too.

My serious answer is "yes," but I think the more N you (the INTP) have, the better, for comedy purposes.

What type is Tina Fey?

My impression for some reason is that most comedy shows have INTP writers. INTP Larry David for Seinfeld for example...

Comics as a form is a kind of architecture. I've heard someone compare "story" to the stories of buildings, and panels as the windows across them. Of course there's no one way of approaching it, it's a pretty flexible form. But I think INTPs would like the graphic design elements. I'm writing a few comic stories at the moment and would like to take it seriously one day (I'm more likely INFJ though.)

If you're asking if they can be treated seriously then I think so, definitely. I'm likely biased as I've been researching them for a while though. :)

Very much so in my experience. Their strict to the point logic is often quite hilarious when operating in another framework.

Larry David is definitely an INTP and a successful comedy writer. He's not so good at being a comedian, they described him as a "comedians comedian".

INTP comedians, and INTP entertainers in general, have to rely heavily on their Ne.

I'm hardcore Ne for an INTP and was/am encouraged by friends to develop my comedy writing because although I cannot craft an overt joke to save my life and do not actually physically laugh at very many things my grasp of situational humor apparently translates to people who do not experience the world like me. Definitely a black humor kind of deal.

I find comedy in things that are blatantly fucked up and universally human and draw most of my material from my phenomenological experience as an INTP. The contrasts between calling shit out and social norms and between being hyper-ardent and ultimate futility. Also: the absurdity but necessity of Us vs. Them. For example: my pilot for Strip Club Science surrounded Pickup Artists vs. Strippers and how despite despising one another and having diametrically opposed goals their processes and motivations are nearly identical. And that if each were not absorbed in The Game they would respect one another and engage in conversations of a game recognizes game nature.

I agree that writing comedy is very architectural in nature. This is my biggest issue: I am amazing at using formula and established structure to create content but when filling in the blanks (believable dialogue) I either have to draw from literal experience or collaborate with someone who is more skilled in constructing it.

There's a possibility. Given the time we spent in our head thinking about random stuff, there's bound to be an idea for your story...I guess.

Wait.... Are we talking about comedy or comic books, because the latter doesn't have to be funny at all.

I think it's the former in the latter. But then it can be the latter alone.

As for the question: I think so. As was already mentioned, the Ne function much relied on.

I am very funny. It is ironic since I believe I'm depressed a lot of the time I think of funny shit.

wether its comics or comic books I see no reason that INTps can't write them.
