No. But I have given them many site visits. I am thinking of donating something over Christmas.

Yes. I contributed in dollars. I wanted to contribute an idea*. It was something about adding a link to an existing reference. I couldn't figure out how to do it. Then I forgot about it.

*About the nature of understanding.

I eventually realized the importance of donating to Wikipedia - not so much the particular company itself, but the concept/niche it fills in humanity: free unbought knowledge. The fact that it is funded by donations is precisely why it is wonderful -- corporate interests can't censor information very easily.

After centuries of our info being censored, I think we've realized that it needs to remain public, collaborative and available in this new way. It's the only thing I've ever donated to in my life, and continue to donate to.

As you have said, the idea is sound.

I find myself questioning the autonomy of wikipedia foundation, but decide to invest in the idea rather than wait for unshakable confidence.

It does help them as I help increase their internet traffic, which is in fact the reason they exist.
