My favorite thing could be crossing the Atlantic on a sail boat. Massive amount of solitude, removal of the drug called internet. I have extremely lucid dreams when I've gone with out technology for more than two weeks.

Juat you and few other people you see for lunch and dinner during a trip. Following the moon cycle every night and the stars of course. Sea life appears in the middle of the Atlantic, like a breaching whale or a bird having a rest next you.

Copious amount of books are read. Politics of ecstasy was fun or maybe consuming

Not too long from when I've reached the money I need I will sail around the world staying different spots for months. Learning from people who are not consumed with bull shit.

Is being adventurous contradictory to INTP? Or is seeing and learning new things vs being comfortable with your daily life aligned?

Sailed across the Atlantic... Also competitively race lasers. But that's no where near as good.

I would love to have the experience of sailing a far distance, it sounds great. I've sailed some but it mostly came from 14' boats at a summer sailing camp when I was younger. I don't have my own boat but whenever the opportunity pops up to go I'll take it. It's much like in the winter how snowboarding seems to keep me clear headed. A day of sailing or snowboarding can have the same effect as taking my mind off something and coming back a week later.

Sailing is a lifestyle I suppose. I think when a lifestyle that suits you it makes you calmer and happier. And it shows a passion to others which I think sometimes overides personality.

Nice to see some sailors here! I've covered a lot of the northern Atlantic. And I was payed for it. Love that job

I come from a sea-faring family and fantasize about living a life like the OP. Living on a boat and the mobility it would provide is extremely appealing. They offer classes in small and large boat at my college that I will probably enroll in. Some day I'll live the dream.

The ocean is a frontier that can be rediscovered endlessly, which may be part of the appeal for me.

@Absurdity you should definitely take that opportunity. There is also semester at sea which is a bit crowded and controlled but also an option to move around.

I suppose the closeness with nature is very powerful at sea and being able to harness nature's forces vs draining our recources is very rewarding.

Being an INTP I never got that anchor tattoo haha. Damn hipsters take everything

I like the idea of it, but I think I'd get bored of water quite soon unless I was visiting a lot of islands and coastlines.
I like woodlands better, but I do want to sail at least some time in my life - I want to set off from England and sail to all the countries surrounding the English Channel, North Sea and Baltic Sea.

On another trip I'd like to go from the Irish Sea, past the Scottish Islands and up to the Faroe Islands and Iceland.
Another trip I'd like to make would be from England down to the Canary Islands, across the Atlantic to the Bahamas and up the east coast of America and Canada and back to Britain via Newfoundland.

I need to get a lot of sailing practice I think.

I sail small boats (lasers and the like). I'm not a fan of yachts or racing so I mostly just boat wander around the bay.

I both fly(by thermals) and sailing. I have not sailed this year because I sold that boat last year. Not real sailboats, but a dinghy. I have had several. I love it, it's so quiet and serene. I will get one again next year. I consider myself a bird, not a fish. It's in the air I am in my element. But I like to relax by the water.

I like to relax around water but I've never been a sailor, mostly due to fact that I don't know anyone that has a boat and I can't afford one right now.

I used to sail and race. Great pastime, totally exhausting being on the water. Good way to get out of your head.

I considered getting a boat and do some ocean sailing but they're hole in the water you throw money into. Well, so's a house for that matter (substitute land for water, unless it's a houseboat).
