I will explain someone to you who insists they are an INTP. I have my ideas, but I would like to hear yours. This post is simply because this person solely wants to discuss ideas about being INTP and how typology is great and other things. I want to figure out if they are in fact an INTP type. If they are, I cannot be.. we don't seem to be alike at all. She keeps calling me a mistype. Which is fine, but I believe that she should be equally critical of her self-analysis.

I've known her for a while, so here's how this person is.

Reserved, hard-worker, serious. Misunderstands sarcasm at times. Sometimes thinks that I am mean or too harsh. Not really a joker. She does talk a lot to friends, not very social in crowds. Says she is only hyper when out of school.

We're in high-school, she always gives her effort in class. Sometimes very surprised that I don't study for my classes. When we did have classes together she liked to compare test results. Complained when her results were not higher than mine.

Prone to misspellings (I am too).

Has a bucket list. One of the things on the bucket list is to experience true love and reach a level of pure selflessness. Calls herself a Hippie. Thinks that I am 'the weird type'.

Writes on her shoes a heart. This heart is on the right foot. Guess what the meaning is? "Love is Right." Haha, get it?

Likes The Titanic. Seriously surprised when I didn't like The Notebook. Equally as baffled when I told her I did not love babies.

Generally independent but self-conscious. Doesn't want to differ from the group, in fear of judgement.

Critical, but does not like to be criticized. Once asked me what I thought about her advice on helping someone else on their english creative writing work. It was about The Tortilla Curtain. She gave me her synopsis, I questioned why the character would rob a bank, which seemed too irrational for said character. She asked me if I was angry at her.

Thinks people are trite. When I told her that people may be alike because all we are as humans are what we are exposed to and our flawed perceived realities, she asked if I was angry at her.

Loves the Hunger Games, Twilight, and Vampire Diaries.

Has said she doesn't really like theories, but likes fantasy.

Of course, these are just my observations. These are all true accounts that I can pull from my memory.

What do you think?

Yeah I guess INFJ.
Important to note that she is in High School. "The personality is not in static" was what Carl Jung said. It often changes as we go through life.

Unlikely INTP. ISXX my guess. Those IS's tend to be the Trekkers and ones that go to ComiCon.

Thank you for your input. I knew it wasn't INTP, but I don't know the cognitive functions enough to actually prove or disprove her type. I think the F would be accurate. About that static personality thing, her personality has changed over the years. She used to be critical and bitter (for lack of a better word), but is becoming more emotional over time... "Yay! Prom season is in like six months!"
