Hey everyone, my first thread (yay!) ()

I would like to know, who are risk-takers and entrepreneurs, the reason I ask is because all my options of earning a living right now are risks with a rather big chance of failure.

Firstly I Act, Direct and Write plays; secondly (to earn more money, as the arts are rather under financed.) I look for entrepreneurial opportunities and investments (currently investigating Binary Options Trading.)

Anyway, given the uncertainty of my means of sustenance, Am I alone?

Certainly not. If I fall sick for one month then I'd be practically done for a whole year, unless I would have chosen to degrade myself and stay with my family again.

I'm thinking about passive income and I'm saving money for it, but it won't be viable until much later in my life.

My income is now sustainable but it's my job to support inventor-entrepreneurs which are both risk-takers and insane.

I work as a chef, it's low paying and hard work and very time consuming. I play poker on the side and study the game when I can. I'v got plans for travelling but when (if?) I come back I plan to go somewhat pro with poker.

I have done things that people tell me are risky. More than once I've picked up and moved with what I could carry (or fit in my car, depending on whether I was leaving the country) to a new place. I never know I'm moving more than a week before it happens and I don't think I've ever moved with the knowledge of where I will live and work (I've known one or the other, but sometimes neither). I always had at least enough money to survive a week without a home or job. Also, with each move, I have a stronger resume and more options for employment. I have taken other risks that did not work out so well, but this is not the place to discuss them.

As far as entrepreneurship, have taken half-steps. But when it comes down to it, I am not a huge fan of super commitmenty commitments, and a business can be entrapping.

Ugh I could never do this. Ain't many jobs worse than being a chef.

Personally I like coming up with ideas for making a bunch of cash, but I never actually do anything.

i think i have a great idea - sadly i would need to know very advanced programming and have an extensive empirical database. it's practically impossible to do alone but if i divulge anything the idea will get stolen at best.

This is one reason why there are confidentiality agreements, to prevent the purloining of ideas and processes. They can be written up in such a way that anyone using your idea for the accumulation of filthy mammon subsequently forfeits the mammon to you. You need a team of people bound by confidentiality oaths, and you need a lawyer to set that up.
