I may be. Any A-sexuals in a full blown relationship?

Not that I don't like sex but I always do it for her in the sense that it is never at the top of my list. I'm not interested in anyone else for sure.

From what I've read, it's difficult to establish whether you are asexual or not. However, the same applies to other sexualities. A person who had sex once or twice with the opposite gender, and the rest of his/her life with the same gender, would still be considered homosexual as far as I understand.

The main experience that makes me suspect I'm asexual is that once I slept with a girl I liked in the same bed. I enjoyed it very much, but I didn't feel any sexual attraction. I also don't like kissing, as far as I know (although I tried it only once with a girl I didn't like). Do romantic asexuals kiss each other?

That doesn't make any sense. I like how it makes them homosexual and not heterosexual or bisexual.

What? If a person has sex 5000 times with the same gender, and 1 or 2 times with the opposite one, how is he/she not homosexual?

edit: I can see where the problem is now. Rephrase: if a male has sex once or twice with females, and the rest of his life he has sex with males; he is homosexual. If a female has sex once or twice with males, and the rest of her life with females; she is homosexual.

Is that ok?

I'd say it's considerably better.

Just make sure you avert your eyes from that guy in the closet. Don't look!

Damn, you looked. Now you have to reduce the accuracy of that statement from 100% to 99.99%. Oh wait another one!.... Damn, you looked again, now we are 99.98%.

But yah for the most part that is okay. Just be glad it isn't the 50's or your accuracy would be a lot lower.

No. A person is homosexual if it is attracted to the same gender. The number of times it has sexual intercourse with any gender is irrelevant.

Fine. You are right.

I just meant that it is possible for homosexual people to have some heterosexual experiencies, and that doesn't mean they are not homosexual. My point was that it is the same for asexuals; even if a person has sex a couple of times, that person may still be asexual.

And you both know what I mean, by the way.

I am an asexual. I have had multiple sexual encounters and wondered-what the fuck is this supposed to be about?

It is disappointing that I'm supposedly missing out on a lot.

My sex drive is low..ultra-low. When my sex drive is in display it is almost exclusively towards women, so I may just be a really low sex-drive heterosexual.

I, like probably a lot of INTPs, have missed out on a significant portion of what other people experience sexually, but I have met this with a feeling of "what the fuck am I supposed to be feeling here," whereas I suspect a lot of INTPs fully know what they are wanting out of these kind of situations.

wouldn't the fact that you were able to perform preclude you from being completely asexual? I mean even if you didn't enjoy it (I am assuming you had intercourse), the very fact that you were able to become aroused enough for sexual contact must mean that there is at least a small level of sexual desire, right?

This is actually fascinating to me. Is it even physiologically possible to have zero sexual desire? I know that there are many psycho-emotional-physical reasons why people can't or don't copulate. I know erotophobia and anhedonia are real disorders. However, I have trouble comprehending how a person can live their entire lives without at least masturbating. Do asexuals ever have nocturnal emissions?

Have you ever had your testosterone levels checked? Are you sure you're asexual?

From Cheese's first link

Arousal
For some sexual arousal is a fairly regular occurrence, though it is not associated with a desire to find a sexual partner or partners. Some will occasionally masturbate, but feel no desire for partnered sexuality. Other asexual people experience little or no arousal. Because we don’t care about sex, asexual people generally do not see a lack of sexual arousal as a problem to be corrected, and focus their energy on enjoying other types of arousal and pleasure.

Note: People do not need sexual arousal to be healthy, but in a minority of cases a lack of arousal can be the symptom of a more serious medical condition. If you do not experience sexual arousal or if you suddenly lose interest in sex you should probably check with a doctor just to be safe.

Even corpses can get erections.

Both my cat and dog are asexual. To my knowledge neither has has sex with the other. They seem to be okay.

Even corpses can get erections.
How many did you have to stimulate before you made that discovery?

If we believe the premiss of an asexual spectrum, then I went through a period recently best described as demisexual. I had to know my current girlfriend very well before I was truly attracted to her. I was attracted intellectually right away, but I took some time to become comfortable sexually.

Now having said that one could argue this was more a result of ending a twenty year bad marriage than an inborn lack of sexual drive.

In an age where everyone seems to want a label, I am not certain this asexual spectrum isn't just that...

And Idk if anyone has pointed it out yet, but asexual mean reproduction without sex. Given the actual definition, I would like to see humans manage that trick.

Give me a cottage for my home And a rich old cypress vine ,
Removed from the world with its sin and care
And the tattling of many tongues .
Love alone shall guide us when we are there--
Love shall heal my weakened lungs ;
And Oh, the tranquil hours we'll spend ,
Never wishing that others may see !
Perfect ease we'll enjoy, without thinking to lend
Ourselves to the world and its glee--
Ever peaceful and blissful we'll be .

Nah, I haven't had my T checked. Thought about it, but too lazy. It would explain a lot of things besides just this if that were the case though. I have no natural fucks for a lot of things, some of which I know people(who are sexual,at least statistically likely to be sexual )agree with me about, some which I do not really understand the psychological cause of yet.

And shit, this is really personal. It may also be anhedonia. I never get thrown up into a heat like it seems to me most people do... but I can cum, although it's meh at best.

The thing about sex is.... it reminds me of part of a book by Kurt Vonnegut where he's talking about one of his past loves where they connected deeply on an intellectual, I-can-have-fun-with-you kind of level, but when it got down to sex, she just kind of didn't understand it... She would turn things around to something silly or what was actually fun to her. It's just sort of a disconnect on a fundamental level, tbh. I have been in multiple sexual encounters where I've been expected to perform, and wanted to(on a not-very-interested level), and there's just nothing.

So yeah, extremely personal, but there are the answers you seek.

I would ask another question: any homosexuals here?

Unfortunately I am gay (as well as INTP + depression-anxiety syndrome + mixed personality disorder). How fucked up I am :-(

Might be, it's been that way for years.
There is this unmistakable desire for affection and connection, but nothing physical aside from the pleasing aesthetics of a smile, or laughter.

That is really an improper use of the word "asexual". Being uninterested in sex is not the same as being able to reproduce completely on your own.
