Just wondering what the overall make-up of INTP's we have here. I imagine that most any of us can have PhD's if we wanted, but I want to see what the spread looks like between drop out's and PhD's we have...

From my point of view, this poll assumes we are all done with school, and younger people who are still students are not taking into consideration.

I am in college, and will be done with it in a year and a half. However, I didn't see any option available that fit my situation. I guess I'll have to come back here in a year and a half to choose the "Completed 1 (one) Associate or Bachelor' Degree" option.

I think most people here are fairly young and mistyped. At least those who choose to post in the forum. Luckily, we have some in possession of more time that contribute and enlighten us younger folks.

Sometimes the path one take in life is more dependant on chance than ability.

Myself is in uni, I kinda want to take a PhD (in physics), that'd be awesome. But I don't know if this scatterbrain of mine will make it that far. I'm not too fond of structured learning, I just like exploring. I'm not certain I posess the academic abilities, so to speak. Time will tell. Well, it already has, I'm just unable to perceive it. (I'm ENFP tho).

Soon finished with a pretty useless bachelor's degree. Not sure yet whether I'll take master.

Minuend: You have mentioned mistyping a lot recently. Any reason why? I don't think the number of non-intp's have changed all that much during the last 6 months.

Well I suppose I was gearing this towards people who have completed schooling and don't plan to go back. People who are going to school right now have the potential to become disinterested, derailed or drop out, I think was my line of thinking, so that would screw up the numbers, but let's see if it's not too late to edit...
but you're right, I forgot I'm probably old compared to a lot of users here and I should include that...
Sh*, How do I do that?

I have? I've barely written on this forum the last 6 weeks or so. It's probably because nobody welcomed me back :<

It is true, there has hardly ever been a lot of INTPs here.

I got an associates degree in liberal arts. This basically means I studied a bunch of stuff until they gave me a degree and told me to get out.

Then I got a bachelors in Literature.

It's not that impressive but I did get to study what I wanted and really enjoyed the time I spent in school

In a few years maybe I'll go back and get a masters if I find a program I like. *shrug*

Certificate level. I've done a couple of papers here and there, but I've been fairly half assed about going beyond that (but then again, what 21 year old INTP isn't half assed?). This year I intend to get my baking certificate so I can work as a baker (cause I like food and chemistry) and next year once I've got some dough (lol) I intend to finish my art qualifications. My big goal is to get my bachelors degree in fine arts majoring in film.

I chose "Completed 1 Bachelor's" because I'll be done by the end of this year. So here's to me being optimistic. My major is in Child Development, started off as a Nursing Major...

I just put "Completed Bachelor's" since I'll be graduating in May with a BA in Graphic Design.

If I do get my Master's, I'll be getting it in Computer Science or something related to web coding/programming.

I am in nursing now! Lower level LPN nursing, but nursing natheless. Lol. Just fell into it after taking a severence package from an ex-employer, Motorola. If I had know where my talents really laid, I would have gone into engineering like my co-workers suggested. Or gone into computers sciences of some kind. Still time, I suppose....

If you really want to switch over, do it. Don't want to be stuck with a degree in something your not going to enjoy.

Or you could always find some way to combine the nursing and coding.

I agree with switching while you can, and if you can.

I was originally interested in nursing but uh...Anatomy and Bio-Chem didn't work well with my non-studying self. I don't think I would have truly liked it though when I got into the field. More recently I found myself interested in Forensic Anthropology but I would probably be faced with the same anatomy and other classes that require serious studying anyways.

And I wouldn't mind that sort of study, I am just not as "natural" with the caring part. lol. I am only spathetic towards patients because the flip side would
Having to deal with them at even longer length and intensity. I do wanna care more, but I just don't. Instead I have a more secret schizoid response. I just want to be comfortable and in my zone. Not having to constantly emotionally support others. I think I just made that epiphany! lol

I refuse to indicate my education level because this thread's title is cheap and misleading. I feel bamboozled.

Ah, I can understand the caring part. Having to do that on a daily basis... But look what I did there...I helped you with your epiphany...that will be $50...I don't give out epiphany help for free. O.o

Lol, the results of this poll are telling. I definitely believe that a majority of the people that are here/post in the forums are actually not INTP personalities. Additionally I feel that most <=18 year olds cant comprehend the questions of the majority of the test to accurately answer. Then there are the rest who tailor their answers to fit who they want to be or think they are but in reality they are deceiving themselves.
Sorry for digression, back on topic- I currently have a bachelors as well as completion of additional technical courses etc. If I won the lottery I would be a student for life. I hunger for knowledge but hate the boring routines (homework, cramming for exams etc.) Ideally I would go back and study what I want and apply myself as desired throughout the various subject matters as they spark my interest.

WHat part of the poll makes you say that?

I don't know every facet of INTP personality, so I'm intrigued when people can tell what type other people are, or can make an assumption such as yours.

As for the rest, it's kind of funny that I was thinking to myself if I could learn what I wanted to at my own pace, I would totally go back to school for other things. But I am so burnt out, I hate studying, and the pressure of exams (which are just memory games). So, oh well, I'll just take what I've got and run with it.

The poll results were higlighting the uneducated which led me to the correlation between all the kids I have seen posting in the getting to know you topic in another branch of forums. The rest of my response was ranting on my own experience when it comes to people taking these tests. I have had various people take the tests and on numerous occassions had people tell me they didnt understand several of the questions or just guessed the meaning. Then you have the people who lie to themselves etc. My desk is always neat, but you know the person and know that it is a lie. Or the question I am hardly ever late. For the majority of people they have a hard time truly answering these questions without erradicate modification.
I am a pretty good analyzer of people and o I believe it is the true INTPs who can most accurately assess themselves. Obviously good analysis cant be done on small random replies but my generalizations are from experience outside of this forum.
