[JUSTIF]Don't take the title too seriously (at least the "bastard" part). Artistic license.
You should be warned beforehand about my English that is far from perfect (what isn't?) as i rarely actively use it.

I've been reading this forum for a while now and finally joined after a couple of failed attempts. Any idea why two of my email addresses were rejected as banned? This question fits better into feedback forum section than this one however.

On topic... quick introduction:
I'm a 22 year old (biological age that is) university student (software engineering) from Czech Republic, curious person by nature, interested in... interesting stuff :)
Favourite topics of the moment include programming, game development (attracted to adventure games and taking a closer at "inside web-browser" games), psychology (plus related stuff by C.G.Jung), drawing (mostly digital, vectors), films i missed due to my age (Hitchcock for example) and a little history (Greco-Roman mostly).

Also questioning and reevaluating my own life philosophy (do I really have one?) and world view is one of my usual activities these days (not a good topic to deal with at the end of a semester... it gets more difficult to concentrate on "the important stuff"). That's probably part of the reason I'm writing this post here.

It's just about a year now (possibly less) since someone sent me a link to MBTI test and I found out about this whole "INTP thing". My first attempts at tests resulted in ambiguous INTJ/INTP classification (border result for J-P), after reading the type characteristic i started to suspect my honesty with the answers though as INTJ seemed to be more of an "ideal" result than reflection of the truth. INTP seemed so much more appropriate.
Someone mentioned somehow similar results here recently, that brought the subject to my mind and made me retake the test yesterday to see what happens to the J-P results now... I'm clearly getting more disorganized... or just more honest with myself.
Did anyone notice similar changes in MBTI test results over time?

Oh, by the way, hi everyone

Welcome to the forums~!

I herd you liek history. Isn't it something when you stop and wonder how mankind has evolved since then? It's mindblowing to think that not so much time ago, we were using swords, bows and axes. Now we're flying and have ballistics, we can explode things and fly to space. Greco-Roman history is great in that sense because I believe that they were one of the most developed civilizations of the old times.

Also, you'll learn that those tests aren't really an accurate tool. The best way to type yourself is learning about the theory in depth, and then discovering yourself. This forums has tons of material for you to read on. Also, It doesn't look like you're aware of the function's behind each type - That's a good way to find out about your type.

Take a look at this forum (Especially the MBTI section), and you'll have a lot to learn.

Again, welcome.

PS.: I like the way you bolded the key-words.

I am partial to Greco-Roman history, and ancient history in general, simply because it is much more interesting. But I haven't ever extensively studied it.

I also studied/study Greco-Roman history although mainly Ancient Greece. Best part about studying history is the millions of connections to today's time. When I took the test first I got INTP straight of the bat. At the time I was down on myself and I think that influenced the result.

My point of view is more similar to the one Jesse mentioned.

Best part about studying history is the millions of connections to today's time.

It's true that many things changed in last 2000 years. On the other hand considering for example all the changes that happened in just about 200 years (during and after industrial revolution), Roman civilization doesn't actually seem that distant as one could expect. Greco-Roman culture affected the whole western world a lot (including spread of Christianity) which alone makes it interesting. The little i know about far east history for example seems much more different to me. I've never studied this topic in a systematic manner for longer time though so...
Also the very idea of creating a picture of a world that is long gone is appealing.

Sure, tests are just tests. I'm not completely unaware of the functions, getting a better understanding of them is a good idea though. You're pointing this out because i sort of "compare" INTJ and INTP (mentioning the "border" results) while the two types are functionally different, right? Or not?

Who doesn't? It's good to know about potential trouble as soon as possible :)

Normal? According to local standards? I fear this word :kilroy: It seems so flexible that it can mean pretty much anything. I guess you can consider the avatar to make me "normal" then.

Thanks for the welcome everyone.
