Am I INTP or ISTP?

I'd like to settle this internal debate with myself for once.

Upon new observations, or new data, I seem to question whether I am engaging Se and therefor being an ISTP.

I do type as INTP on all tests I've done, even the cognitive functions tests. However, I manage to find faults in other INTP's that I know and disdain most of the professions that are listed as INTP suited.

I'm open to possibly being an ISTP, even though I highly doubt it, and I can answer questions and provide more information as needed.

I rather not, in the event that they may be reading this and put the pieces together. I know one frequently trolls around these forums.

There is no other that I'd be but INTP or ISTP. My I & P are fairly obvious, but I have a developed Ne (or Se) so I have no problem in social settings or with the outside world. I do not have any traits that would associate with a stronger Fi (to indicate INFP, as another possibility).

I understand you have a general suspicion of the whether or not members here are INTP or not, but using deductive reasoning and from my studying of Socionics, Keirsey, Paul Tieger, I do not see myself being anything but INTP or ISTP.

Also, based on your thread "Guide to typing in real time" and how you describe the eye scan of Ne I definitely notice myself doing this when I am seeking possibilities or whether something can be true or false but I cannot conclude it using Ti or Si...yet.

I'll be mesmerized by a stripper's dance and think to myself "Wouldn't this be Se?...dammit I might be an ISTP"

You're ISTP because you were mesmerised by a stripper?

(Not just male?)

I've studied the seduction art (pickup) and based on what I know, I could try and sleep with her so there begins a sort of guilt for enjoying the perception of having something that I know in theory how to obtain. I don't frequent strip clubs though, only been a number of times.

It's more Se the other way around. Mesmerized by the stripping and not the dance. The dance is more abstract.

What's abstract about a dance?

Although I was more mesmerized by her (it was a period of no sexual activity for a timeframe that I don't want to disclose :))

Stripper's "dancing" is in a way so that males can fantasize about being with her in the various sexual positions she positions herself and exemplifies certain features of her body. Overall during that experience I was more impressed how the strip club had a convenience store in it rather than the actual strippers themselves :D

No

What's with the hidden obsession regarding INFJ on this forum and supposing that every member aside from Adymus might be an INFJ?

Do you identify with this ISTP profile?

One thing I noticed about sensing thinkers and NTs is that NTs have an easier time talking about and analyzing their feelings while STs avoid it like the plague.

NTs don't express a lot of feelings but they can easily pick through them and analyze them to no end.

Don't you know? INTPf is an INFJ worshiping cult. ;)

:worship:

As to the OP, I doubt there have been any actual ISTPs on this site. More likely INFPs or ENTPs.

@EyeNTP Well, what type do you want to be? "I'm open to possibly being an ISTP, even though I highly doubt it, and I can answer questions and provide more information as needed."

I think to accurately realize your type it's a prerequisite to be open to being any possible type. If we already know what types we want to be or don't want to be and reject or accept answers based on what we want to hear, then chances are it'll be harder to discover our type.

Sometimes these "either or" questions are based on a false dichotomy. Mine used to be "am I INFP or INTP?". The answer was none of the above.

When there's a lot more than two cognitive configurations/types out there AND there's misconceptions about them, I would imagine some amount of not being open to any possible type would be present. No one wants to say they are close-minded, but there are a lot of cultural memes out there that value certain traits and the types those traits are associated with more than others. So the question is quite valid. Is EyeNTP truly open to knowing how his brain is configured, when the answer might either be a type he doesn't associate with due to bad descriptions and stereotypes. And everyone is conditioned by their culture to value certain things, even if the process is almost or completely unconscious.

If that makes the difference I am definetly INTP.

I also doubted it due to my "closet daredevilness" .

But I am not as intuitive according to the myer-briggs to what a regular INTP should be.

But I have my shares of zoning out and dreaming (a lot).

As a general rule, no N thinks he is an S, like no NT thinks he is an NF. When it comes to tests, I am such a realist that I have often scored as Sensor. But the test is meaningless when one knows better. If thinking if one is an INTP or an ISTP, one is an ISTP if one has feelings as NTs do not have feelings; STs have nf, that's an iNtuitive feeler, that means a feeler (SF is a feeler only because she is dominantly so, not as a second function pair like the NTs have it) as feelings are mainly about iNtuitive, the sensor feelings being like feeling the temperature of the water and one's own body.
