Adventure Time

Call me a kid, but I love adventure time. I don't know what it is exactly that makes it so appealing to my ideals and fantasies. Maybe it is the combination of imagination and the complex consequences of the post-apocalyptic theme throughout, somehow justifying it's emphasised spontaneity and hyperbolic impulses of curiosity, optimism, ambition, and adventure, or it could be the refreshing presence of falsifiable, elusive freedom.
I'm not sure where I'm getting with this, but I just want to know what you guys think.

I'm a huge fan.

It's a bit hit and miss at times, but overall I've enjoyed the first few seasons. I'm not up to date though.

It's really meh, imo. There are some well-constructed jokes and stories, sometimes, but on the whole it just seems like a mid-tier show for those "indie" kids* who listen to the Arctic Monkeys and whose top three words they use to describe themselves are "random" "quirky" and "awkward."


(I may or may not be projecting some personal stuff onto that assessment.)

*edit: by "kids" I mean the young adult range. ie. late teens through early 20s.

I enjoy the new take on old tropes, even if its not great at least its not predictable.

It's dark and innocent at the same time. I have a feeling of being a kid again when I watch it.
