I often find myself having the most absurd ideas or planning things that could never happen. Like today I was looking at my high school yearbook and saw this pic of a girl I had a crush on a long time ago, so I built an entire parallel universe in my head in which we actually dated. Not only "oh what if..." but actually thinking of every detail, like what each one of us would say on a fight. When I realized what I was thinking about it was like - wtf I'm thinking :storks:

I get those way too often from the most random stuff - seeing a man on a suit these days made me think about what my life would be like if I went to law school, I mean, my entire life, how I'd get to work, how my cases would be like...

I know it is an INTP trace to wonder and be imaginative, but am I the only one that goes that far?

I should probably write a novel or something :elephant:

You definitely aren't alone.
I find myself doing the same thing when seeing a girl I have a crush on, and then look back on it and think "The fuck!?"
I sometimes think back to small events in my life and plot out the entire rest of my life (past, present, and future) as if that event had never happened, just to see what it would be like, and usually the plotline in my head is far more detailed than I think most people's thoughts ever go.

I actually enjoy this a lot. I always find some time during the day to daydream full scenarios, although I prefer sci-fi stories where I'm part of a hyper-advanced robot race, traversing the universe in search of interesting species.

The thing that intrigues me the most is the ability to design other people, their character and interactions, and they seem to have a mind of their own; something like an AI. Each time I try and derail from that path (as in, force a character to do something that it wouldn't), I have a kind of "nah, that wouldn't work" moment and resume the story as it was.

Haha I thought I was alone.

When I was younger, I insert myself as a character in various animes and win the leading girl (or her love rival). I also become as competent or more than competent than the protagonist in kicking bad guys butts

as I grew, the ladies that I imagined to be with became real ones.

All the time...and I get really emotionally invested in them too. >_> Like if I'm imagining a really dangerous scenario, or one in which I'm angry, my heart will start pounding and it completely distracts from what's actually going on around me.

Last week I had a really extravagant daydream during a seminar...I could not remember anything from that 20-minute chunk of time during which I was daydreaming. The instructor went back to some previous slides at the end of the lecture, and as she was flipping through them I had zero recollection of actually seeing those slides, though I was staring straight ahead at them the whole time while off in my head. It kind of freaked me out.

The daydream was about how I was taken to some alien planet with species of a much higher intelligence, and they were studying me and I was thinking of how I could possibly communicate with them, how I would go about teaching them my language, what issues I might encounter, it was way too detailed to be healthy. :slashnew:

I sometimes imagine scenarios involving imagined characters, then random, bizarre, violent, nonsense, etc. things tend to start happening between them
