homosexuality is a preference. Studies with twins do not indicate any genetic predispositions.
Note, any time identical twins are offered up for adoption, they are separated and given to different sets of parents so that the old debate of nature versus nurture or genetics versus environment can be addressed longitudinally by studying identical genetic profiles in different environments.
As far as I know, there has been nothing in the literature that has refuted that homosexuality is a chosen lifestyle, so the popular "I was born this way" justification, is more of a politically convenient myth than anything else...
Have to assume that this was written simply to get a rise out of us, and you're not actually of this opinion...Can't envision
any scenario where an Introverted Thinker could possibly be this blind to the emperical evidence bombarding us from every side...This position could only be held in order to justify and defend some type of incongruent and intellectually feebe religious belief...which, again, is not something that, by definition, should be part of the make-up of an Introverted Thinker.
Studies of twins absolutely DO show a much higher incidence of homosexuality among identical twins...Studies consistently return these results...And, studies of families that have produced a steady succession of members from
only one gender, display a MUCH higher incidence of homosexuality in latter siblings...
Meaning that, in families where there is
only brothers, or
only sisters, the latter children in those families are much more likely to be homosexual...These findings are also consisent with the dictates of a Darwinian reproductive formula that favors an equal distrubtion of the sexes, i.e. 50/50...
Common experience also shows us that indicators of a child's 'sexuality' are already evident and on display to the observant eye even prior to the child reaching puberty...This is the most 'common sense' reason to believe that sexual proclivity HAS NOTHING to do with choice, but is rather, genetic...
But, the largest piece of evidence in favor of the genetic predetermination of homosexuality is that, just in these past ten years, geneticists have located A GROUP OF GENES which seem to be present, and working together in some still undefined way, in members of the gay population...To hold beliefs which run contrary to established science, and the dictates of reasoning and common sense, IS NOT intellectually justifiable, and should be abhored by thinking man.
