ive sometimes wondered: when you look at the anti-life philosophy of jesus - the rejection of one's human nature and earthly life, the glorification of weakness, the various prototypical-communist last-shall-be-first ideas - that perhaps this is the work of the devil trying to lead us astray, into poverty of mind and body

I mean, of course you disagree with Christ's ethics to care for "the least of these." The world has hated this teaching for thousands of years. In fact, it was a common criticism in the ancient world against Christianity that most of the Christians were women and slaves and such. But that's the thing... Jesus cares for the down and outers in a way that the world does not. That is why we do not have slavery today. Because in the ancient world, slavery was taken as a given. Even Plato and Aristotle thought it was common sense that we should have slaves. So, clearly, you don't care about elevating people who are the down and outers because you are of the world.

I specifically said it was possible, but it is never about what is possible but what is probable. And you have provided no evidence of your bizarre view.

Saying Jesus was a communist is not accurate. Jesus spoke of the love of money being the root of all evil. But Jesus also taught that if you are not wise with earthly things you will not be able to be wise with spiritual things. If you want to know my political opinion on this, I present this to you:

Well generally it’s believed that Satan(whatever you want to call him) was expelled from Heaven and cast down to earth, he was a cherubim who somehow turned into a serpent lizard dragon type creature. You don’t have to believe he’s the bad guy you can even take his side but generally as it stands that’s who he is and Jesus was a Hebrew guy from Israel.

It’s just important to establish who these figures are.

That is why we do not have slavery today. Because in the ancient world, slavery was taken as a given.

in US, slavery was taken as a given up until the civil war. Is 1861 the ancient world that you speak of? Or that the union states were on a religious crusade against atheist southern states? In europe, feudalism, which enserfed almost the entire population under the authority of the church prevailed for a thousand years until the enlightenment (which was anything but a christian movement). We have already discussed this in another thread.

You are moving the goalpost. Christianity does a bit of both regarding having compassion for the poor and seeing the poor as virtuous in some way. Just see the way Jesus talks about poverty and wealth.

For starters, the ultimate heaven isn’t a place yet; the Bible says that a new Earth, where heaven will be, won’t be created until after Armageddon. Until then, the dead are just sort of waiting in an intermediate heaven, feeling no passage of time.
