Omagosh! You live in Middle earth!!!one!!?
Is that a good thing though? I feel a lot of media is becoming increasingly ageist, especially with women. It seems that in every gaming series that women either magically don't age, or are simply replaced by a similar, younger model once a certain time has passed.

Personally the trend Who is taking worries me slightly... I suppose I'm too young to properly comment, but the latest series tried too hard to be action packed, sexy, and Hollywood. And have you seen the trailer for the upcoming series?

Full of guns, Americans and supermodels. -_-

Are we incapable of appreciating an old hero anymore?
Well pretty much all the big developers are in agreement that cheap mobile games are harming their industry at least.
Nintendo and Sony especially as they're trying to bang out magnificent portable devices.

Unless you prefer such games then it's not really accurate to say it isn't hurting the quality of the industry.

I think it's combination of things, dedication to franchises, the money you spend, the time you put into them, etc.

For me it's the money and dedication, but for some it might be competitiveness and the time they put in.

I'd say you fell into the hardcore category, or somewhere inbetween at least. 'Casual' gamers are the sort who consider solitaire a video game. :P
I can see the logic though. Casual gamers are massively harming the gaming industry by choosing to invest in games worth two or three pound with a spark of instant gratification, and neglecting the more qualitative, elaborate (yet more expensive) games. Which in turn encourages more and more companies to put a smaller price tag and less love into their games, or indeed to become dlc whores and model everythign after the likes of Call of duty. :<

So it isn't? You must live in a strange, backwater European country. Or possibly Australia...
    Oh. How kind of you.

(Me too. Just did a horrible presentation a few days ago. Got a bit nervous and stressed over it, but it's over!)

Yeah... I suppose it's necessary to sex everything up for a modern audience, but perhaps it's just that what was once sexy is no longer sexy, and we're simply changing our standards rather than lowering them...

Wellllll... I'd probably count myself as hardcore, but I wouldn't say I hated casual gamers. (But then I tend not to play online)
No... But the modern Doctor has expectations now, not to mention a horrible horde of 'Who fans' who really just like drooling over the actor. XD

I expect an unattractive Doctor would be poorly received, however unfair that would be.

I am surprised that Mitchell hasn't at least had a cameo yet. Pretty much every major British actor gets round to it!

Uhm, my weather is bleak and cold with sparse intervals of sunshine. :3
Hahah, I gotta admit, now that he's lost a bit of weight he is a decent looker.
Though it seems to depend on how he dresses in his various roles. Sometimes I think he'd pass for a grumpy old man, other times he looks much younger than 30.

Indeed, some of his Mitchell and Webb stuff shows he has the necessary Doctor talent of going from deadly serious to cheerfully benevolent in two seconds.:D

(And hey, it's not like Matt Smith is a looker or anything)
David Mitchell is friggin amazing! XD

I love his little rants on panel shows.

He's hilarious and well spoken, but also very witty and surprisingly analytical a lot of the time!
