  • Holycrap. And thank you....I'm going to need some time to let all that sink in. There 's a lot to reflect on, very intriguing. I think I will have to write you a PM....

Your text wasn't messy, there's just a lot of information in there all at once. Like being washed over by a giant wave of lots of brilliantly coloured fish......

    And hello :)
Sorry, my internet connection kept dropping out last night, hence my sudden departure. Are you saying we are less self aware because we are out of touch with our dream-states/subconscious? How would you go about becoming more in touch with/manipulating your dream-world? Is becoming the creative programmer a conscious effort? Or perhaps you have a book to recommend if my questions are too much....

Hmmm...interesting. I think I am agnostic about these things too, however I also believe in the power of the human mind to make connections when it is "suitable". I'm torn between 'rationalisation' and just letting go.

Why did you experiment with this? Just curious...
1.) Yes, that's why I say 'obsessively'. When it comes to temperament and lifestyle I think the functions(and types) are positively complementary but in terms of a person's unconscious and repressed feelings, desires and thoughts etc I think attempting to directly differentiate your inferior would result in instability(possibly self-destructive obsession).

2.) I'm still understanding how Te and Fe could work in tandem. I've long had the perspective that it's TNSF or NTFS, where you draw from a 3rd function to support the 2nd, instead of alternating PiJe.

3.) That's kind of why I'm interested in other inventories such as Big Five or MOTIV, they do a better job than MBTI in sorting traits. It's easy to assume everyone here is INTP but the longer you're here the more you able to detect the differences.
Ah, I see. Well, it doesn't have to be drug related. I'll check out this Ken Wilber guy:) Thanks for the suggestion.
Ah, I see. You were using MBTI terms that have different meanings in sociology. You could have clarified this.
Or was I supposed to recognise "MBTI delusions" as a deliberate insult from which I should infer you would only use the sociology meanings whether sociology was being discussed or not?
Sorry to hear chemicals have harmed you. I hope you can reverse any adverse affects from them. Do you find the food you eat to improve your state at all? I suffer from depression often and I read that the paleo diet was shown to help with that. So in order to stop the depression and occasional paranoid delusion, I'm trying to take better care of my body.

That diet that you posted seems pretty solid. I love red cabbage btw. It's probably my favorite veggie. I eat it raw. Some times I'll go through a whole head a week.
I keep seeing you mention being into a low carb diet. I've been trying to go the paleo path. I was wondering if you had any advise when it comes to eating organ meats. Also, what kind of diet do you do?
Hmm. Well I understand PiJe, and that one could learn from both Te and Fe processing, but they'd still be antagonistic. I suppose as long as Ni is your most differentiated function it wouldn't matter much, but still, NiFe looking for thinking to complement Fe seems like it would come from Ti not Te. I'm making an assumption there, but I'd see it as similar to how Se (obsessively) complements Ni.

Projection as I used it meant the process of applying insecurities and other psychological content onto other people, this is what would make it childish and naive, being too eager to overestimate others and objects, and then underestimating them to rationalize cognitive dissonance.

This forum is full of mostly JiNe(INxj) and NiJe(INxp). Do you notice the Ti aversion when you come onto INTPf?
Yea I know what you mean, at least though I think agreeing on a Jung view > MBTI is enough to allow communication.

Ni dominant INTP(that is perceiving and irrational), though at the Socionics board many people would say Ti dominant. Either way, the forum's social atmosphere tends to caricaturize people so I can't really say they have a very accurate understanding of myself and how I am in real life / off the internet.

I've lately thought that the 3rd function(e.g. NiFeTi) is childish and naive and tends to be projected onto others. In becoming more confident with thinking, have you observed the same?
I see, I especially agree about comparing people. I was conflicted with MBTI early on just from observing people and how it didn't match the functions, which caused me to look into Socionics.

"the behaviorally visible movement through life is directed by the dominant function"

Yea, agreed. I don't see how the Myers people could have been confused about this and why they didn't adhere to it, especially with so many descriptions of function lifestyle mentioned in Psychological Types.

"P-dominant types, who have a discriminative/differentiated intelligence, but an overall attitude that contradicts this discriminative ability and a lifestyle that also contradicts it."

    Yea agree with this too.

"i can't deal with 10000 mbti fanboys at once, who won't listen and wo will argue with me."

lol, I felt this way when I first got into Socionics.
    ah, even better

Which did you get into first, MBTI or Jung? I'm just wondering what made it clear to you that MBTI is working with a different system(e.g. p/j).
Sorry, this is a really late response to a comment you wrote on my nightmare thread. I went traveling shortly after I created it so I haven't had a chance to until recently. :p

And no nightmares while on the mountain, unfortunately, just mosquito bites. I had one dream that I think may relate to Jung's idea of the Mandala, which I'm reading into atm, but I'm relatively new to Jung's writing overall. I presume by the language of your response (shadow, etc) that you are into Jungian psychology? It's partly due to his writing that I'm interested in nightmares/ vivid dreams atm. For a year I had a few series of quite informative, sometimes almost mythological dreams, which halted around the time I made quite an important life choice. I'm starting to feel like I've derailed somehow. :P

Shadow of the Vampire. Have you seen Merhige's other film, Begotten? Fun times. :D
I see it more as the isolation of the Earth/humans from the rest of the universe. The grass, representing Earthly things/problems has a little more color to it than the sky, but at the same time is still barren/dull. The sky, representing the unknown or vastness of the universe, is black and white because very little of it has been filled out yet as far as knowledge goes.

The picture also represents my philosophy on learning/thinking. One learns/thinks best when the canvas of thought is kept as simple/still as possible. My goal in life is to completely fill the whole thing with a rainbow of colors, but I imagine I would then be bored.
Ha, fair enough. Thx, I dont know where I got the pic from, but as soon as I saw it I loved it. Very representative of something about me.
Hey man. I really like that Blackbird "Pure" song. What genre of music is that?
Thank you :o Thought that post was far enough in the past and no one would see it again :kilroy:
    Silly me
It's nice to have you and the forum, you have things to say and they are not boring. It is a rare thing.
    Welcome.
