So I noticed some of you guys might be into getting fit.
I noticed my self doing some fit stuff too.
I thought why not have something less cerebral and light hearted to talk about.

I am currently struggling as INTP finding some specific goals, other than general vague goal of getting fit in the gym.

I would not call my self a beginner, it getting fit, but Id also not call my self experienced or in some sense knowledgeable.
I am also super lazy to do uncomfortable exercises so my general go to is finding exercises that are most efficient, without them being super awkward and hard to do.

My only workout tip and first one would be don't over do it in the start.
Its tempting, but depleting your strength butchers your form. That in turn leads to worse results tomorrow.

It probably varies from person to person.

For me cardio, mobility and flexibility are my priority. If I do a lot of intense weight training I know I'm going to introduce a lot of tension into my body so it's counter-productive to my goals. I'm prone to tension and stiffness so it's not good for me.

I do about 2 hours of running every week and I do an hours yoga and breathwork routine on days I'm not running. That's what I do most consistently (and consistency is the key with fitness.)

I'd like to introduce more strength training on top of this this year. On days I do yoga I'm going to do bodyweight exercises followed by 10 mins of punching/kicking a punching bag (as it engages a lot of muscle groups). And then follow this up with my yoga routine.

I like Jackies core workout because its easier for people like me that aren't in shape.
And I can actually do most of it, and gain a lot of muscle strength quickly on it. Also, you don't need much besides yourself and a mat and five pound hand weights. Plus, she doesn't yell at you like most of them do.

Amazon sells Jackies core workout dvd and here are some samples on youtube;

Also, there is something I want to try called the booty kicker bar. I can imagine you could take it outside and do this:

I am really out of shape. I used to be in really good shape in high school, but that was a long time ago.

I'm just working on calisthenics. Pushups, pullups, side squats, ab roller, and I just bought some dumbbells for curls and other stuff with weights.

I think diet is also super important to muscle gain. I don't eat super unhealthy, but I probably drink too much soda even though I have cut down. I hate cooking so I usually buy healthy packaged meals that are not overly processed. I also eat smoothies sometimes. I should eat more smoothies. I should probably eat more protein too for better muscle gain, but I do take some BCAAs and protein powder. I also eat walnuts because they are supposed to be good for you.

Help people move into/out of their homes. It's basically 2-4 weeks worth of going to the gym in one day.

Once you start/commit to helping someone it feels bad if you stop, so there is the social pressure.

People are usually grateful and might even pay you decently.

Ha, its almost like what I just went through, for several days I've had to move mountains of items from one room to another, clearing space for hauling leaky appliances, clearing cupboards and shelves, etc. Because the company that is installing internet under ground damaged the main sewer lines and everything backed up and flooded things. My stacked washer/dryer flooded the kitchen, the fridge leaked all over, the tub and sink and toilet stopped working, and today I called the plumber and let them know Live Oak was working recently, and could it be related, and it turns out it is related. The Live Oak guys admitted they don't know where the lines are and they KNOW they are doing a lot of damage. Up to 5000 worth at least each week. Had to run fans to dry out walls and floors. Anyway, I have had a good workout. I had the leaky things hauled off and had to order new washer/dryer and fridge, all told about 2,500.

My plumber chatted with them and they will pay for it. Clearing the main sewer line is very expensive work. $1200-5000.
Anyway, they had to dig huge holes to locate the damage and fixed it last thing on a friday night, but now its all fixed again.

You wouldn't believe how much damage they are doing to the entire neighborhood. So far, they hit someones gas lines and caused a dangerous leak inside their home, made a fire hydrant burst and spray water, digging up yards, making tons of noise, causing the water to be off for thousands of people and unable to use showers, toilets, wash baby bottles, or dishes, or cook, etc and boil water advisories, etc. The company is really damaging a lot everywhere they go. Makes me wonder if its foreign owned and its done like this to ruin things on purpose.
