Since we had some problems with multiple accounts it just seems natural that the community enters a temporary phase of general paranoia and sees new users as a general threat.
From a personal perspective, I saw such things several times happen in other forums. The pre-Troll generation holds closer together, more PMs get exchanged (too bad that the total amount of PMs can't be measured, it would be interesting to see some diagrams), internal memes, secrets and rituals get created mostly just to show outsiders how outside they are.
Sadly, this development seems to be inevitable.
The only thing I really can accuse is the "User x is troll Y in disguise". In case that the new user is not the troll, it is almost impossible for him to prove the audience wrong because the only thing he can say is "No, I'm not Y" and the rest of his forum there will always be a "has been accused to be Y" surrounding him.
This is unfair. If you have a (justified) suspicion, please contact a staff member of your choice.
The other point is that all what trolls want is attention and so every time you mention their name they drool over their keyboards.
