A little bit fucking late I know, but I've been thinking, I have a very solid resolution and plans for 2024, now I feel like I've jumped to a new circumstances whereby I haven't felt entirely dissatisfied with the state of being now, but I'm wearry that not setting any goal would fuck up the grindset mindset big time.

I think this habit may be helpful to atleast mentally focus our effort on a set goal or improvement, what is life without a struggle type of stuff.

So I'll just stick with what I have on top of my head:
  1. Accumulate up some money to actually have a respectable savings.
  2. Get a nother stripe in my BJJ Belt.
  3. Be able to do a clean Pull-Up.
  4. Complete a legal case from my firm.
What are yours?

I didn't make a formal resolution for 2025, but here are my main ideas:
Saving physical money (vs banks).
Because we just don't know about the future and so many things can break down. Major appliances, cars, and things becoming so expensive.

Hmm. This reminds me of the dragon guarding his gold. Is that metaphorical? Ok, didn't realize WE over time are the dragon, ie, time is representative of the length of dragon, in increments, ie, habitually saving/guarding gold over the long run, bit by bit. Finding the part of us that is this powerful element, the one that habitually stands guard over its gold. Longetivity as a goal.

Making a habit of doing exercizes to strengthen physical body
Reduce Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar
Clutter clearing

Not worrying about future or past, staying in the present and embracing it

Focus on the process of whatever I'm doing and not how much gets done, just liking the process of any action.

Also, I'm starting a container garden in a tent. I bought 16 bags of organic soil, some galvanized planters and a small tunnel tent and seeds.
Started some Bok choy, lettuce, tomato, a few herbs, beets, potato, a few green beans, squash and peas.
I forgot to put plant markers in, so I don't know which is which, but next time, I'll know to label the seeds.

I was grieving quite heavily for most of 2024 (I thought it was depression but it was grief.) So it was a quiet year mostly focused on self-care and contemplation.

It's showing signs of lightening and there is more forward momentum in my life now. Tbh 2025 is going really well so far so I just want to keep the momentum going.

* I'll be qualified in thai massage soon so I will be looking to setup my own business to pursue alongside my part-time job until I can drop my current job entirely
* I'm learning guitar and spanish
* I'm back at muay thai and have a good regular fitness regime in place
* I'm getting involved in ceremonial work again
* I'd like to save some money to return to South America next year

I have a coach for free from the gov due to my autism diagnosis so they're helping me with staying on track with my goals.

past 12 months have been a series of absolute fuckin disasters for me - mostly financially and professionally, but some personal stuff too. Coming up with resolutions is easy lol, because boy oh boy, life lessons have been in abundant supply

biggest lesson would probably be: the universe doesn't reward you for being brave, it rewards you for being smart

To be fully present. Less mindless scrolling, more real conversations. And maybe drink more water and touch grass now and then

I don't do new years resolutions (ironically it's a form of procrastination, putting off improvement until the next year).

But I do have goals.
+ Lose 10 kg (started at 5, completed early so shifted to 10).
+ Once I've lost weight, do something for flexibility (e.g. pilates, yoga etc.--doesn't matter what).
+ Once flexibility routine is sustainable, begin endurance routine.
+ Once endurance routine is sustainable, begin strength routine.

All physical well being goals are continuous, so I'm not too concerned about time-frame so long as I am able to sustain them.

Other
+ Complete my masters.
+ Service my car
+ Get a haircut
+ Change my avatar on INTPf
+ There is a computer game I suck at that I feel I shouldn't suck at. I want to not suck at it.
+ Get my money back from someone that stole a few thou off me

I reckon with the global market and international trade going to the bin, it's now the perfect time to accumulate emergency funds, like cash and Gold, because imported and everyday goods will experience a price hike. Not to mention the shitshow that's gonna slam the job market.

What helps with me is doing something that motivates me to do those things. I really cba to spend time stretching or doing yoga personally but if I didn’t then I def wouldn’t be able to do strength training or Muay Thai without injuries, so it’s something I have to do as I’ve already committed to doing the thing I wanted to do first.

I can attest to how much a boost in motivation this gives me. I feel like without any predisposed goal, people only like very narrow field of interest, the correct way to expand your interest (sincerely) is to find activities that encourage or support your predisposed interest.

For example, I never liked jogging, weight-lifting, or working out in general, that is until I was attached to my BJJ Hobby, suddenly I had to jog to cut weight, I had to lift for strength and conditioning, and I took on other sport to keep my physical flesh in check.

Yeah I'm doing it because I want to be healthy, but the real driving force is I want to be better at badminton. It would be easier to get better through badminton specific training but that doesn't have the general life benefits and looks miserable.
