You don't have be exceptionally smart to be an INTP, thats mostly just the stereotype. You have to break it down to hierarchy of functions. For an INTP, it is in this order from most used (important) to least: Introverted thinking, extroverted intuition, introverted sensing, extraverted feeling. I can try explaining each one a little, but you might have better luck just doing a little research on each one. Introverted thinking means that you are have to think something out before you say it, you probably day dream a lot. Extroverted intuition basically allows you to recognize patterns and see multiple possibilities. introverted sensing is kind of confusing, but it seems to come down to remembering facts, and making connections with past experiences. Extroverted feeling means that other peoples emotions will affect you, and though rare, you will express your emotions rather than bottle them up. You might be able to recognize what someone else is feeling but chances are you wont care.
