So, some time ago, on a not so mature forum as this one, I tried hosting a homebrew RPG. It did not take off, because the player(s) didn't bother going along with what they signed up for( I later learned the player in question was about 13) Since this is an illustriously INTP forum, I thought some maturity would help get a new vein of The Cloudy Years going. Despite the Pness.
The Cloudy Years is a play by post RPG, and the players do not see any numbers. No dex points, no levels. The sense of advancement is based on the how the players interact with the game. In other words, sandboxy.
The elements of the game are highly randomized, so the game is wildly unfair at times. Death is a constant threat and the game is apt to seek revenge for stupidity. The setting is a clannish and wild part of a fuedal kingdom where often the feudal structure of society is too weak to maintain a domestic peace. The players will be lowly peasants of a village.

I'm curious what kind of response I will get out of you guys. Unfortunately this seems to be a isolated part of the forum. Also, I'm open to suggestions on theme or game style, but I would like to keep the low-fantasy medieval genre. I intend to have 3 or 4 players at once. 1 character is mandatory but once I get things set up you can make your own. Later player characters may be based on NPCs encountered in the game.
