My most recent score on this spatial test is "average." However, I have tested much higher on verbal and memory abilities (mainly verbal) on official tests. Anyway, this actually surprised me because when I took this awhile back I scored "well below average." The difference this time, I had a caffeine source nearby, and I actually concentrated and consciously attempted to manipulate the objects in my mind, but I also lost patience towards the end. I'm certain the exposure affect came into play maybe a little on the score, but I think mainly the familiarity decreased my anxiety to the point where I could perform adequately.
This also makes me postulate that if someone spends oodles of time messing with spatial tests on the internet, that it would decrease the validity of a particular test's score (such as WAIS/Stanford-Binet). I suppose that could apply to verbal tests as well.
