I will post here in the future some nice obscure findings in the realm of psychedelic / progressive rock of the "classic era".

Let's start with this gem:

Cold Sun - Dark Shadows

Just a tip:
You may need to give this and other records some time to develop their respective flavour.

I was listening to it, I liked it. It's not exactly disco but since it's from the 70's I suppose that's where the influence came from, plenty of wahwah & scale modulation as it would translated be. I have been seeking more of this kind of stuff... Although after a while all the songs sounded the same; it was like listening to a single hour long song. Didn't mean to review this but hopefully encourage.

Thanks for the input, feel free to share your thoughts and impressions.
Maybe even add some content as long as it is from the period from 1968-1974 and as long as it's weird and groovy.

Let's continue with something nice and smooth.

"Hippie" might be an impractical word to use to define anything, since the image conjured up depends very heavily upon each person's understanding of what the word means - everything from simply "someone looking for a socially redeeming excuse for laziness and drug use" to "counterculture revolutionaries" to "barbarians at the gates" and "flower power wimps trying to dodge the draft." It was that way 1968-1974, too, the word got abused to the point of meaninglessness.

My favorite at the time was "Wide Wide River" by the Fugs. The group does musical satire, of a political nature, and is "hippie," I guess, because when we marched on the Pentagon in 1968 their plan was to surround it and levitate it with our minds. Anyway "Wide Wide River," also known as "river of shit" for one of its refrains, is very much a doowop gospel sound that makes its biting message stand out: One usually heard these chords and that beat and assumed it was either going to be an ode to God or a love song. The incongruity was the catchiest thing.

Not sure if that's quite what you're looking for.

Thank you for bringing this particular perspective.
I'm a man of the 50s, but when i say that i am confronted to be a man (which is not correct by the standarts of PC of today) and also i am considered backwards.
Well, as far as it considers me, what is bad about being more fundamental?
At least you know where you belong.
What's so bad about knowing where you belong and what cultural heritage you should refine?
