I'm going to go ahead and introduce myself. Hopefully the other members will follow suit, especially since they are still not showing up in the members list. (I'm really very excited to get this forum going, because this stage, where there are few members, can really be one of the best stages.)

So here's a little about me.

My name is Jessica, I'm 23 years old, I live in Upstate NY. I groom dogs for a living, which is tolerable but not something I want to do my whole life. (It's very repetitive, stressful, labor-intensive and not especially challenging or rewarding.) I'm going back to school in the fall.

My hobbies include Warhammer Fantasy (I play Hordes of Chaos,) reading about dogs, working on my book (I'm writing a book about choosing a breed of dog), browsing the internet, and reading about my various interests (Myers-Briggs, history, dogs, etc.)

Getting things started only works when people RESPOND. :-p. Come on, guys...

Hi Jessica!

I didn't know you were so close to my age, or lived in Upstate NY! What's it like in New York?

Dog Grooming sounds interesting. Are most of them easy to work with/ easy going or do they give you a struggle?

I believe you commented once on my then-girlfriend's chinese pug. He was a very lovable pup, and very laid back and loved getting baths. He would even gravitate towards a blow dryer when it was cut on, as if he loved 'gettin pretty'. Anubis was his name. He was ran over a few days before his 6th birthday last year, and it was devastating. We kept him that night instead of cremating him, and had a birthday party for him anyway. We drew his face on one of the balloons and let it free into the air. I believe it helped provide closure for her (INFP).

What kind of history interests you the most, Jessica?

I'm sorry, I didn't mean for that to come out bitchy; I hope it wasn't taken that way.

Dog grooming is ...not interesting. Its a job. About half are easy to work with. The rest bite, struggle, scratch, and scream their little brains out.

I'm sorry to hear about your pug... I've lost a dog recently as well (well... not really so recently as it feels) and its hell.

As far as History... nothing particularly. I'll find something interesting, read about it, and move on when I get bored. I don't tend to stay with it long, its one of my interests that's more of a surface interest. "Ooh... interesting... " *read read read*...*mind wanders...*.... and something else catches my attention. But, if you're looking for something more specific, I gravitate towards the civil war and meso-america (pre-columbian.)

I think what I meant by "respond" was more along the lines of other people starting their own introduction threads... I should have made that more clear and again I apologize if that came out a little harsh/rude/demanding, etc.

:)

Hi!

It has to be asked: you don't have a side-kick called Arthur by any chance? Pudgy accountant type that gets about in a moth suit and can fly?

Hello, I'm new here. This is my first post, as the number to the left will testify.

I didn't want to join this, because I don't care to join much, but y'all had some interesting thoughts and ideas. To a certain extent, it is exactly what I imagined it would be and isn't at all-which is also a part of what I thought it would be, so put that through and see if it makes sense.

I'm out of work right now, and have been for a minute. I lived on California unemployment and they paid me not to work, so I didn't. Now I am trying to get one of those job things, so that I can pay that rent thing and those bill things everyone is so damned worried about.

I play Warhammer too. Beasts of Chaos, primarily Minotaurs. They were the only thing I could make any heads or tails of, and the move 6(5) is absolutely key and helps me avoid that 8 inch stutter step that makes me hate that game. I would definitely suggest WARMACHINE or HORDES from Privateer. The armies are much more balanced and it makes it more of a game of competing strategies based on a philosophy of applied force rather than a game where you do best when you find a certain most efficient list and win all the time, which I abhor in GW games. You can say that isn't how they are to be played, but the English just don't understand the American spirit of competition, so they can't write a game for us. WARMACHINE loses a lot of the guilt.

Do you ever have to deal with Mastiffs? I want one of those when I can support it. I think it will be a certain measure of having arrived when I am able to have one. They also seem to be super chill and yet vicious, huge guard dogs.

As to me, I am sure that will become apparent as I post more and I'll let you judge for yourselves. That is, if I post more...damn INTP personality making it so hard to have that routine thing.
