What of the gun, a blessed offering of a third choice by denial of the other two choices? It is not meant to be chosen, instead to coerce the victim into choosing the two, clear options.

How do you differentiate between a victim who is pretending to deliberate here to buy time and someone who is because they would actually prefer to be shot than choose. How long do they have to decide? Should any alternative punishments be offered, depending on the circumstance?
