Hello, I am an ISFJ (who thought they were an ENTP for a long time), due to having reasonably developed Ti. I know a few of you guys have had bad experiences with xSFJs in the past, and I am not here to try and fix things. I am here to find out more about INTPs, and how Ti/Ne manifests in you. And I am also interested in hearing about your past experiences with xSFJs (and where it went wrong/right and why it went that way).

I come in peace, and will be lurking these forums (which I found by accident) to find out more about you wonderful people and how your beautiful minds work. Please be gentle, and don't tear me apart. I'm a very curious Luchador :)

Thank you.

Hi, Lucho-

Thanks for coming to this forum and for reaching out to us for more information. If you ever have any comments or questions please feel free to ask. This is generally a pretty well-moderated forum that gets some high-quality responses from its members, but here is an info-graphic that may help to keep things in perspective in case someone gets a little out of hand:

So how did you come to believe that your Meyers-Briggs personality type is ISFJ?

Hello, thanks for the welcome. I'll be sure to ask any questions if I ever need to :)

Yeah, I know how things can sometimes get out of hand, especially on online forums. I am well equipped though. I have years of internet etiquette/chaotic experiences to refer back to if I ever need them xD And that infograph picture is pretty cool. Thanks for sharing it.

Hm.. well, it's a long story. To put it simply, I thought I was an ExTP for a long time, until I done some reading into the functions, and a little wrestling/exploration with other types/functions. Eventually, I looked into ISFJ and I resonated with the ISFJ function order, and Inferior Ne like that. It all made sense to me.

I would also like to add: As I am a young adult, I have started to develop my Tertiary Function (Ti). I am trying to use it as best as I can. Sorry if I come across as a little unclear at times. I will try my best.

You lie badly. Although not hardcore as ExFJ, IxFJ spent time on re-view how other look at them. They doesn't want other know their true self. You should choose other types to lie instead of so opposited type like ENTP, assumed that you are true ISFJ. Si people so gruff, unnatural at hiding something.

Welcome. Can I ask where you got your information about ISFJ? Also, have you taken an official MBTI test? If you are in college, that might be worth your while. They often do it for free at career centers, and the examiners are generally, but not always, knowledgeable. I took advantage of it. Typed as INTP in my early 20s. Now in my 30s, my type is even more apparent.

I would not recommend trying to develop your tertiary/inferior functions. That's a recipe for disaster. Better to focus on developing your dominant and auxiliary functions, whatever that might be. Doubly true if you're young. Type is hardwired. The lower functions come into greater balance with the top ones over one's life. The inferior function is the one to watch out for because it can lead you to make bad relationship/career choices. That's why it's important to get your type right in the first place.

As for experiences I've had with ISFJs in the past...I had a brief relationship with one. It ended very quickly. No mental connection whatsoever. She was broody and quiet. I think they tend towards having a depressive streak...it might never be full-blown depression, but I think it's always a low-level kind of melancholy for them :(. My father is ISTJ, and they also are Si dominant. She was also pretty anal, obsessed with cooking/food and not much else, felt like she had to be dutiful and responsible (to her parents) by studying hard, very loyal, interested in finding her soulmate asap and just getting it over with, no desire to experiment when it came to dating/relationships, hated drinking, smoking, all vices, wanted to be super healthy and clean at all times...that's all I remember.

Hey, welcome to the forum. Thanks for coming here to learn more about us, instead of trying to bridge a gap and 'teach us your ways'. Not many XSFJs are willing to interest themselves in us. After a few days here you might get used to us.
