I used to be all about Ted.com, but I read this fastcompany article
http://www.fastcompany.com/magazine/143/face-off-brain-versus-brain.html
about Ted.com's main competitor and my horizon expanded. Its a decent site. It has about 20 times more videos than Ted.com. I like the fact that it would have several different talks from the same speaker, and that many of the talks are over an 1hr long. Ted always leaves me wanting more. You can find many Tedsters in Fora.tv. I like the fact that I can find random public talks at libraries or bookstores, held by the likes of Vint Cerf or Jonathan Zittrain. Its a cool site, a random collection of meetings and conferences from around the world. If you like Ted.com you will love this site.

P.S.
If anyone comes across similar sites, please post.
