I don't mean this in mean way, but my observation of people is they literally get most things wrong most of the time.
I get that all people make errors. Me included, but......
But hear me out.

First of most people who make mistakes double down on them.
They just can't help it. Its even more infuriating knowing that pointing this out will just make you the bad person.
To add insult to injury sometimes these people are so adamant about being wrong that they even manage to convince you that its right until shit happens and you know they just managed to dupe you into stupidity.
The even worse part is they will probably make the same mistake next time, and even if you point out the mistake they will still insist it was a good thing, and cycle repeats, only now you are still the enemy. Because you are simply wrong. The bad guy is the one who points out the error.

There's being wrong as a matter of lacking information or falling victim to a fallacy or being genuinely deceived and then there's people who make decisions based on what they feel rather thank what they think and a lot of them feel they are entitled to do this.

Indeed as a culture western society has enshrined as a right people's ability to believe whatever they want, despite reality, as though it's somehow a matter of free speech.

The most unpredictable element about our planet is the humanity.

This is an amusing theory, that you can watch for more context. But the premise is that there are 4 types of people.

People that X and X are:Don't Help ThemselvesHelp Themselves
Help Others Helpless People,Intelligent People,
Don't Help Others Stupid People,Bandits,

Basically, it implies that stupid people are the root of all problems we have. Because at least with Bandits and Helpless people, you have people who you can predict the motives of.

Stupidity being an independent variable from just about anything we typically think of as stupid. You can have a smart stupid person for example.

I can sense the pinballing of new information entering my brain, bouncing off of my preconceptions, and I don't take these thoughts seriously unless I have a basis of knowledge for that thing already. I'm usually wrong if I act on impulse, OBVIOUSLY. And my ego can handle that.

My tax preparer asked me a question about how I'm reporting my taxes and I just sat there fucking helpless as useless garbage entered my brain. Saying anything would just hurt me by making me look ignorant, so the smart thing to do for myself is to ask questions instead of pretending like I know what I'm talking about and risk not getting any useful information at all. Depending on how "stupid" my tax preparer is, I would be more or less informed from that interaction.

People that make errors do for some reason hold onto them relative to the magnitude of the error. Have you ever heard someone back up into a poll or a giant column in a parking garage that's empty? It's rare where a situation like that happens and people don't find something else to blame. It's 100% User error, but where is the benefit in coming clean to that besides putting you higher on the list people with questionable abilities?

I can bring up a misjudged action or opinion someone has, and their first instinct is to throw a projection about how I'm inadequate to make that call.

Don't even get me started on the fact that someone will be wrong 9/10, but then will use the 1/10 time they were correct as unequivocal proof that they are a supreme intellectual. It's bizarre, and gross to look at because I fear the same thing in myself.
