Cons
  • Everything closes at like 5pm, even in the CBD, it's ridiculous.
  • Temperature varies wildly with cloud cover and wind direction.
  • There's no convenience stores.
  • I got seasick on the Bruny Island tour.
  • Lots of churches, then again this could be a pro if you need something to piss on.
Pros
  • The food was exceptional.
  • The coffee was good, not Brisbane good but still good.
  • A very charming mix of 1900s and art deco architecture.
  • Cheap cocktails and spirits on sale everywhere.
  • MONA was cool, I did the Dante's Inferno exhibit, the first room was great, the next two were meh.
  • Friendly people.
  • Got to see a baby dolphin.

you still here? I'll meet you

You can't take the churches, I've pissed on all of them and they're mine.

I'm already home, I went there on the 13th and came back today.

You can't take the churches, I've pissed on all of them and they're mine.
Well now you'll have to do it again :D

Did you see the head of the colossus at mona? It's my favourite by far.

Yeah that was wild how did they do that? I suppose it has to be something to do with lights and mirrors, it's amazing that it works from every angle, very magical.

I liked the "Requiem for Vermin" and the confessional, not to confess anything but rather the darkness and silence inside of it, I'd love to have one of those with just an armchair inside of it so I can sit in perfect darkness/silence and enjoy the void, the Inferno room had the same effect in a white noise kinda way.

My Dad's been there and told me there was a sculpture called "The Great Wall of Vagina" which either wasn't on display or I missed it, I was there with a date and looking forward to gauging her reaction :D

Yeah they took down the vaginas. Made it a lot easier (though still tricky) to take a vacation care group there. It was pretty boring anyway tbh. Took up a lot of valuable room to make their point - got people talking though.

Haven't seen the requiem for vermin or the confessional, that might be one of the things they rotate.

The head has no mirrors, but uses a strobe light. It's a whirling 'tree', with sequential depictions of the scene in order. The tree rotates, and the strobe light is timed to make you glimpse each sequential installment without seeing the rotation of the whirling frame. So what you see is similar to claymation, but without a camera and made from different models rather than the same model being painstakingly moved between shots.
Edit: or that's how I'd make it - that's my guess.

I loved Hobart! I met somebody from INTPf there before. Can't remember who.
