Often times I feel like a stowaway inside a giant machine. Watching the cogs turn by. Tapping this one and that to see if something happens. But most times I sit and observe. Listen to passersby's notice and remark about the machine. Cringe and try desperately to withhold the 'well, actually..' from slipping out when they say something inaccurate.

And at times in my watching, I realize that I have started to observe myself watching the cogs turn.

That's what happens when we are in a state of reaction as opposed to action. Tapping is not strong action. Nothing will happen. Passers-by see things from the outside. They are not imprisoned and have a judgment of the machine's worth ... but may not always get it right.

You could start a thread on what it means to act and react. Do it BAPPY.

The arrow flies when you dream, the hours tick away - the cells tick away
The Watchmaker keeps to his schemes
The hours tick away - they tick away

dissolving into The Watchmaker's machination of before and after, ticking away
the timeless sits stoically aside, holding a knife to back
ticking back in the attack
tick-tock
now fills with laughter, changing but always the same, ticking away and ticking back
tick-tock tick-tock gives now the show
The hours tick back - they tick away
