Re: Global Warming
Burning carbon = more CO2 = Heaven for plants = A greener Earth
Dear nature lovers: If you love the plants, then burn more carbon please! You will do the plants a favor!
And... more plants... means more food for us too....so let's solve global hunger and burn some dead...
Fe people dont avoid conflict, they are extraverts! for god's sake! avoiding conflict is more an Fi thing.
Fe people pursue the win in conflicts.
Fi people avoid the loss in conflicts
Both F people settle conflict.
T people keep conflict open (because.
they dont "feel" it themselves), thats why...
The American Dream changed over time
- from the proper dream of reaping the benefits of your own hard work in freedom (not bothering others)
- to the unproper dream of reaping the benefits of profiteering off of the system (thus of others)
Where did you get that information, is it classic MBTI/Jung literature? which book? which chapter? Or is it your own opinion?
Jung said they were USUALLY unconsious (UN and not SUBconscious btw) because they were underdeveloped, he never said they were not there.
I cant agree with you on...
@Jenny:
Most of your reply makes a lot of sense to me, and I thank you very much for it.
Except this last part, which I do not understand. How can you say this? Or am I missing something here?:
From the definitions of the J and P functions:
- The Judging function manifests in reality...
I can see the same human MBTI types in other mammals. I guess you all agree with that.
However, I dont see it in non-mammals, like reptiles. The entire F-function seems to be missing in reptiles. Reptiles seem indifferent selfish thinkers to me. They seem to have a T-function, but no...
No I dont, I know its 4 functions (Se, Si, Ne, Ni).
I also know each 4-letter-MBTI-combo is just a different ordering of the 8 functions. I just think there are wrong assumptions in that default way of ordering in the way MBTI does. I do like the 8 functions as a theory. But I just question...
Te pursues the pleasure of task completion
> Te manifests/finishes/single-tasks
Ti avoids the pain of the wrong task.
> Ti procrastinates/complicates/philosophizes/switches-tasks/multi-tasks
I think all xxxP types have more Ti, thats why they seem to keep on perceiving instead of deciding...
just put a digital counter above your bed with the number of days you have left (before you die).
it will shock you that there are not many days left (its not such a big number), and every day "-1"!!
that will make you focus
I like Mr. Lostwitheal, nice jokes, the bottom line: nothing can never become something.
The big bang theory is as dumb as a flat earth theory.
Expansion YES
Single point beginning NO
The universe has always been diverse, just smaller. Diversity expands into more diversity.
you dont get it, this is not what socrates means by knowledge. its not just extraverted thinking know-how-knowledge, his knowledge is more like fully knowable-awareness-knowledge
your example is not knowledge, but the IGNORANCE of compassion for those who have to deal with the damage of the...
i agree with socrates, i would just use some extra words to explain it:
ignorance is a short term solution, thus temporary (thus already extinct in everlasting perspective)
knowledge is a long term solution, thus everlasting (in its ultimate form)
ok so the absolute is always universal, but the universal is not always absolute.....
my opinion: absolutes as voted by others+self actually dont exist, but absolutes as voted by others-self do exist:
the only evil declared evil by all others would be a consciousness that hates/opposes...
There is also a theory that Earth REALLY had less mass (not just less volume), thus less gravity, and that's why the dinosaurs could get so big.
And that actually makes a lot of sense...
Because this is a well-known problem in dinosaur research:
- T-Rex was muscular and clearly built for...
BigApplePi > haha, you pretend as if everything that ever happend was moral!
if only the impossible is immoral, then immoral things would never happen.
arent the "elite" supposed to be evil/immoral because they practice incest (among more reasons)?
(and lonely farmer can do what he wants as...
Read a beginners book about how to program in assembly language (machine language of cpu's). Then you will understand computers better.
It is difficult to explain to you if you dont have this background.
computers have no introvert side, they are extraverted only.
humans provide the...
My task theory is CPU-like.
Task theory is a universe of tasks and processors.
Your mind is the processor.
Every thought/meme/concept in your mind is a task for the mind-CPU.
Tasks can be nested. Super-tasks contain multiple sub-tasks. (think project management task trees).
The lowest...
Abstract thinking is thinking "why NOT to do it". (instead of concrete thinking which is thinking "how to do it")
abstract thinking does not give answers, it gives deeper questions to the questions. (making the original question kind of like the answer).
anyway, i'm a postponer too sometimes...
I made this drawing...Your opinion is appreciated...
@Logic: used your store/recall idea, but I flipped it
Ne <vs> Ni (big picture and how it fits in with the rest)
I have asked this question many times:
Where did this idea of alternating extravert/introvert over the functions come from anyway?? And WHY are all theories using this restriction??? WHY CANT IT BE DIFFERENT? WHY NOT 2x E-functions and then 3x I-functions for example? Why always alternate? And...
I've been invited to some high IQ clubs before, and you are right: lots of them are depressed. or they are just bitching about everything. "ohhh i am so intelligent, but society has no place for me!!". They are a bunch of whiners! They should get their asses kicked back to reality. I usually get...
Jung said that the inferior functions are archaic and child-like, this is probably what you mean as well. they are underdeveloped and underused and when they are, they suck at it because they had little training. ;)
Topology is trying to model the psyche as a blackbox.
It is the map of the territory. Many maps could be made. No map is exactly the territory.
For different purposes different maps might be useful.
(Some maps focus on roads, some maps focus on borders.)
The best map should not only make...
I think hate/love are higher rationalities on top of the basic opposing-another/helping-another sides of the feeling function.
The experience of "feelings of love making you tear up" is not per se the feeling function. it is something you can do alone. it is a private deep/introvert concept...
@Adymus> nice analogy and you are totally right that a lot of people take topology (whether Jungian, MBTI, Keirsey or whatever) as-a-matter-of-fact.
The problem is that these people think that the map is the territory. They do this with everything in their life, not just with topology.
Is it...
I am trying to understand you, but you come off to me as if you think that Si & Ni are mainly memory functions and Se & Ne are mainly NOT-memory functions.
I am very sure actually that it is not like that!
@Logic > Please try to read this thoroughly, and I promise I will also try to read...
If you only look to the front, you can only anticipate/intuit the back.
If you only look to the back, you can only anticipate/intuit the front.
it is like this with all perception functions. lets say X and Y are opposite perceptions:
- when you are X-dom, then you see X and intuit/anticipate...
Thanks for the post, but sorry, I really dont think it is all about storing.
Perception is only about seeing (whether directly from the senses or as a visualization re-feed).
And you can only store what you see.
Each of these 4 perception functions sees fulll reality in a different way. And...
i dont like rigid and flowing.
i think i know what you mean though:
rigid = distinct/categorized/digital
flowing = analog/continuous/fuzzy
when you sample flowing analog music you "converge" it into rigid digital values.
when you play a sine wave from a digital/rigid formula, you "diverge" it...
different labels/words, same concepts:
with empiricism you mean applicable knowledge (HOW again)
with "your" rationalism you mean deeper understanding (WHY again).
do you have another word/label or give me your definition of contextual please?
Switch over to Ni-dom for a few minutes ;)...
it is not cryptic at all, the intent is just vague because the writer is probably a confused person.
i just browsed it, the intent of the websites comes off as purely sensation seeking (for the writer whoever he is.) There is no deep stuff (not even cryptic). It is an attempt to sell books...
to be the life of the party is an easy trick, but it is addictive, it massively inflates your ego.
thats why good looking girls flock to clubs, not for the guys, but for the ego inflation that the attention of the guys gives them.
thats why guys with good social skills flock to clubs, not...
Dont whine about chapter X, chapter X and XI are to the point and really useful. If you really want a shock go and read chapter 1-9 (I don't recommend that).
The 4 letter stuff is the MBTI shit that came after Jung duhhh, invented by mother and daughter meyers-briggs after reading chapter X of...
