Certain electrons spinning in certain directions are at a more stable state if they are aligned with other electrons. They will therefore expand energy if they are able to force other electrons into alignment.
That's basically it.
I get this, usually with long series of books or films.
I would describe it as affecting my inner voice, rather than my thought processes or my perceptions etc.
Or I could perhaps describe it as becoming slightly set into my subconscious.
For example after watching several seasons of House...
Punctuation is optional where it isn't necessary.
Those mistakes weren't intentional. I often miss the last period off my posts, and when I was about 15 I just decided I couldn't be bothered with apostrophes for possession.
Slightly off topic, when I'm writing my narrative continuously...
In this thread:
Seriously though, whenever I see terrible writing like that, either A: English isn't that persons first language, or B: that persons opinion isn't worth reading
An heretic volume of unimaginable horror, so terrible that no mortal mind could ever grasp its' true nature. :twisteddevil:
It's actually quite enjoyable, they've got a couple more copies at the local library if you want to read it.
No thank you, I've got some already.
That is INTJ humour.
One pattern I see among Ni users is assumptions that what is obvious to them is obvious to others. Most of them realise this though, except when it comes to humour. My Ni friends often tell me a joke, but it may take a while for me to realise the line of thought that leads...
Disasters are opportunities, as long as you avoid being a direct victim.
Unprecedented events lead to unprecedented reactions, which is often the best way to break free from old patterns and repetition.
There isn't a mathmatical explanation. I used to think there must be, but there just isn't.
Using fractions as powers is simply mathematical shorthand for a root. 4^(1/2) just means the square root of four.
edit: ignore what I wrote, it's all bollocks.
x^(1/2) is simply another way of writing a square root. x^(1/3) is a cube root, etc.
And in the same way, a half root is the same as x^2
So when you have a fraction as a root or power, you simply use the opposite of the function using the bottom number.
I've been thinking about starting folding@home for a while, but it seems to be unrelated to the BOINC project.
The main reason I don't use it is convenience, I can't leave it running overnight because my computers in my room, and I'm too paranoid to leave things like that running when I'm out of...
A lot of people like this seem to group all scientists together as a single entity. They believe that for some reason every single scientist would conspire together towards the same goal.
It definitely wouldn't be a fair fight, but if given a choice between complete surrender and futile resistance, a lot would resort to futile resistance.
Also the citizens of an occupied country would likely find effective ways to fight.
It would still probably come down to humans fighting in the end.
If a countries robot army is defeated and the attackers invade the country, the humans will still fight if they are able.
I've copied this from someone who copied it from somewhere else. I just thought I'd post it here.
If you haven't seen the film yet you probably wont want to read this
I've just got round to researching this, and its' effect comes from the creation of very fine bubbles in the cement, although I haven't been able to find out the mechanism by which the bubbles are created.
Bubbles in the cement obviously lower the density, but their strengthening effects is due...
Most children build pretend forts and kill invaders. I used to build a human body and pretend to be a white blood cell killing bacteria. I think I was about 10 or younger.
It just comes down to understanding the processes and figuring out how to control them, we could either achieve it by altering the process to work indefinitely or by simply replacing old tissue physically from time to time. The major stepping stone will be building computers capable of...
I think anime tends to be deeper and have better developed characters than most western TV and films.
People who are obsessed with anime are often pretentious twats. But most people who are obsessed with a certain thing are like that anyway.
Mastery over the human body.
i.e. everything from stopping ageing and curing cancer, to growing new body parts, to being able to manipulate physical attributes.
Stopping ageing should be relatively easy, the hard part would be overcoming the limited memory of the human brain. It would...
That's a load of complete bullshit.
One point is that he keeps stressing the fact that the sea floor is much younger than the continents. This is because the oceanic crust is continually subducted and remade.
Fish fossils are found inland because there were once inland seas in some places, and...
I mainly just distract myself from it. It could be said that I just don't deal with it.
I have friends, but no one I can be intimate with. I'm just going about my life as normal and waiting for something to happen which changes it, but that is probably not the most effective approach
I first heard this song a while ago, but it has suddenly struck me just how wonderfully optimistic it is, it's really cheered me up. And I'm not being sarcastic even if the song is.
