  • I think our loop is pretty well set by ourselves with our shadow function of Fi which may be why it's difficult for us to alter. Our Fe interactions with others when we share in discussing a topic of importance (under consideration by our Ni+Ti loop tinged with Fi) will determine our current mood if we harmonize or conflict.

(My current speculation) I think I'm done theorizing for now...;)
After further consideration, I think we've discussed two category's of focus (the topic of consideration) that our Ni+Ti loop utilizes: inwardly (depressive or enlightening) or outwardly (a positive or negative worldview).

As anxiety is to paranoia, so is wisdom to harmony.

After mulling over your idea on the influence of our Fe on our introverted loop, I think I see it more as influencing the way in which we express ourselves to others and having less influence on our internalized feedback loop although under stress from say having a disagreement of values with others it may be bringing in our shadow function of Fi which is more concerned with internalized values and altering our feedback loop in such a way making us feel down when we felt strongly about a certain topic.

If we find someone who shares our own internal values then our Fe would be strengthening the loop through our social interaction. I think maybe it might be a combination of Fe/Fi that could be an influence.
I believe I see this distinction between the INFJ and INTP forum in how particular members will go about presenting their views.

Whereas the INFJ will start with the big picture and go about discussing what seems to them like the relevant details the INTP seems to begin by sorting and presenting the details that are most relevant to their world view so as to be pieced together.

A worldview that is and a worldview that could be.
    "Ni consolidates, Ne expands."
Their aux Ne worldview being a more externalized version than ours.
"Many threads to make a shirt; many ways to design a shirt."

Since the INFJ would seem to favor this feedback loop as well as their aux Fe this would give the appearance of stubbornness to those topics that are personally important to them. Those topics that synch together in their Ni+Ti loop and are part of their personal 'values'.

This is mostly speculation on my part though.
No worries, I get easily distracted myself. I'm currently going over Japanese anime, film, history, and culture in a discussion with subwayrider on his blog thread. :)

The analogy came to me recently after reading a few threads regarding depression and enlightenment and being reminded about our Ni+Ti functional loop discussions, so I thought of mentioning it because it seemed a more concise way of describing it in my mind. Ni+Ti could either oppose each other and create an equilibrium of 'big picture' vs. details (INFJ's likely favoring their take on the big picture) or they can synch up and catalyze to reinforce their negative or positive world view.

    Splitting this post for length...
Hah! I don't remember you ever saying anything that offended me. Just like an adept Fe-user to be overly apologetic. I've noticed I do the same thing... over any little thing. I came up with this metaphor for the way many INFJs live their lives... it's like being Kenshin, fighting bad guys with a reverse-blade sword, being at a disadvantage for caring too much about them. It requires that he be exponentially more skilled and lucky than the opponent(s), for they fight without any mercy -- to the death. Maybe that's kind of elitist, though.

You know, ENFPs, guarding all their feelings deep within the self, can also seem quite cold and calculating. The Ne makes them often more openly playful and childlike, -- just look at their outfits -- however, so that really sabotages the whole coldness thing. Yes, I think you'd be right.

I think if I were a straight woman, I'd have a huge crush on you.
I decided that the virtuous/vicious cycles are an appropriate analogy for our Ni+Ti loop that can be fulfilling or detrimental in how the feedback loop expresses itself.

If one begins the loop negatively, then it continues to negatively reassert itself. A negative idea begets further negative ideas as do negative emotions beget further negative emotions. The inverse of the vicious cycle being the virtuous cycle and hence a healthy and beneficial use of the Ni+Ti loop.
It's a playground for my Ti, which I'm trying to strengthen. I'm bored with the other three for now.

It just came to me the other day that INFJs are honorary thinkers in their own right. They're the only type that gets to experience Ni+Ti when they get sucked into the famous loop.

I enjoy the thinking for thinking's sake, here.
