Very well made TED talk explaining why there was a drastic rise in IQ in short period of time.

I do like the talk. There was a paper published this year that made a similar conclusion.

It would be misleading to conclude that humans are getting smarter, because really we are just getting better at taking tests. The whole education system has been oriented toward getting students to score higher on tests.

Yes, but the TED talk also implies that people indeed are more competent at abstraction which is a skill that is very important in real life.
