McGilchrist does make several good points, IMO, especially concerning rationality being useful for analysis of static, dead things from an abstract POV, but useless when considering life and other dynamic systems. Any aspect of constantly changing reality needs to be perceived from a holistic/Gestalt/recursive POV.
That is not to say that rationality is wrong, but that it is just one of several components and not the sole component, of a functioning mind...
I have tried to make the same point on any number of occasions...
