I heard my wife playing this vid this morning in the other room. Usually I try to ignore what she plays as she is a Facebook person and our interests often don't mesh. This time I didn't ask her what it was, I just said, "Send it to me." Wow!

I posted it in another thread and got a strong reaction. Can you post what your reaction is?

To play, just hit the arrow. Play it loud if you dare.

The unedited cynical response:
The county pays for this?

Feral cats should be shot.

With that many people in their office, they could clean it out pretty fast.

They dance better than I do...

Dafuq is she doing with that dog food?

I've been tossed into a pit of closet (?) militant vegans. :phear:

That dude's gotta be there to get laid.

She really needs a more supportive bra.

I wonder how much she can bounce around with that puppy before it pukes?

Yeah, I'd probably adopt that puppy to save it from the bouncy lady. The cats are S.O.L.

I skipped through the video, but I was a little bit impressed that that it seemed to be all one take. Not much else of interest though. Seems like a decent marketing idea, I guess. It's weird how the video was super focused on the humans, and the animals were basically just extra props.

As I said, my wife sent me this video. I was impressed because it seemed to be full of extroverts and we (if I dare to speak for everyone which is against my normal policy) are all introverts. No way would I want to be in that video because I'd be swallowed up in someone else's thing. But viewing it as an outsider? That's entirely different. It's important because half the world is extroverts and we as introverts live in a world created by them.* I don't mind looking at other's creations if they are quality as long as I'm not forced to participate.

I saw this video (you have to play it all) as one full of joy.** Myself and my wife have animals and we like them. My wife found this video because our cat jumped out of the car and was lost and she never wants to keep up the hope it survived and will be found. I let her think that. To repeat, a catchy tune, full of the joy of people loving animals. To hell with it being a commercial. I ignore that and am only after the good things.

*Introverts may fix the world when it needs fixing, but extroverts make the world as it is.

**If you don't find it that way, well that's the purpose of this thread ... to get different reactions. We are all different, aren't we?

The county pays for this? I paid for it ... well I would've if I could've.

Feral cats should be shot. I know a guy who puts out food for them during winter.

With that many people in their office, they could clean it out pretty fast. They are partying. They all go home afters.

They dance better than I do... Me too. I can't remember the steps.

Dafuq is she doing with that dog food? I missed that. You are too observant.

I've been tossed into a pit of closet (?) militant vegans. :phear: Attack. Attack!

That dude's gotta be there to get laid. The entire purpose of the vid.

She really needs a more supportive bra. No no no. The shopping cart is going over a bumpy floor.

I wonder how much she can bounce around with that puppy before it pukes? I will interview the puppy. Get back to you later.

Yeah, I'd probably adopt that puppy to save it from the bouncy lady. The cats are S.O.L. Good for you. The rules are if you want the puppy you have to buy the entire pound lot. That's $x,xxx,xx dollars.

Note the presence of the donate sign, but the absence off an adopt sign?

My worst fears have come into fruition.
The conspiracy is real.

Pets are taking over the world.
First they infiltrated our homes. Now they will bleed our accounts dry through donations.
Lastly they will unleash their hordes of hypnotized, ABBA singing minions on the world.
Brace yourselves.
Appreciate your pets. Perhaps they may spare your life.

I was impressed with the 1 take and started thinking about how they would've had to go about in order to make it. But the video itself was dull.

Oh yeah before they started singing I thought it would be a first person tour of the place, that you'd be shown cool stuff and told interesting things. This appealed to me; it felt like some first person game cutscene filmed in RL.

Your reaction is way ahead of me. To me the story was ALL emotion, not technical. It's a story about how far people are going to go to tell you pets are for love. Not everyone believes this, but pets are like children. They depend on you, look up to you, yet go their own way when they don't need you. They are like your very own love slave. <-- shush don't tell anyone that.

I didn't make it all the way through, I spent most of the time analyzing my own reaction so wasn't really feeling it.

If this improves the lives of animals, then I'm all for it.

I know it was, but that didn't appeal to me it all, it was like Elton Johns piano playing: intricate and effectful but ultimately tasteless and thus rendered completely unappealing. The metamorphological structure of the movie on a social plane during its creation, who did what etc; how the content might be swapped but part of the structure remain to utilize for something else, that kinda stuff.

Something can be interested even if it completely fails to instill me with the intented emotions I might sit there and think well this is mildly interesting owing to its technical qualities even though the expression is totally blergh, like how some wound or disease might look disgusting but still spur curiosity.

I would personally like to hear Snowy's view on this? :cat:

I somewhat suspect that redbaron might have more vomit to clean up...

That video seems to be aimed at feelers. I skipped through most of it, searching for some information. The 'dancing while holding animals' idea got old very fast.
The donation seems like a band-aid to a problem of poorly balanced ecosystem. Much like humans, pets are removed from the food chain and then also cured of diseases. Unnaturally, overpopulation follows. That wouldn't happen if people were more disciplined on this topic. If noone wants your pet/ their offspring (anymore) kill and eat it.

I thought it was dumb at the very beginning, but I found myself impressed by the one long take (which isn't easy to do) and all the maneuvering and positioning that goes along with that... and how earnest everyone was.

It was kind of sweet, silly, dopey fun with an element of actual skill, although the subject matter's not something that usually interests me.

EDIT: I also think it would be just as much fun to kill it with fire.

You know, like walking around the hall on the video with a big torch and lighting things up, with that dopey grin on my face while lip syncing.
