In the sense of taking a break from Sensor types, especially extraverted ones, for a time. Say a week, a month, or a lifetime. Short of going to the Monastery is it possible? Brainstorm please, we need your ideas.

I stay inside.

Sometimes I'm capable of going entirely 100% "virtual" (in my head), I can almost pretend I transcend physical reality, and ignore my own senses.

Monastery? Hope it has Internet! Otherwise it works too :)

Short of uploading your consciousness and cutting out sensory neurons, got nada

I would also vote to just stay home. The man/woman cave is the best sanctuary to me. On a side note, I find extroverted sensors either in the dominant or the aux to be refreshing at times, what I tend to avoid the most are the autharative natures of the Judjing sensors like ISTJs.

What if there are sensors at home so staying isn't an option?

It's possible if you can find a place where Sensors would hate so much that only Intuitives would be willing to go there, and it's hospitable to human life, and Intuitives would want to go there. But such a place would have to be devoid of any familiar ideas. So all familiarity with anything you know would have to be eliminated. Anything that reminds you of the past, the films you've seen, all the science that you know, the languages you know, all of that would have to be banned.

I think that such a place would drive most Intuitives insane.

As Jung pointed out, we have BOTH. We can't have one without the other.

Perhaps you could start a club, where you get to pick the members? Would that be more comfortable?

I've gone hiking at night. There's never anyone around, but if something happens, you're probably screwed.

It would be difficult to weed out the sensors without weeding out the intuitives too. So I'd say all out isolation, learning to live completely independently would be ideal; away from any civilisation I mean. If this is not possible then I'd vote the stay at home option.

How do you know you wont find any sensors in a Monastery?

All of my friends in school were ISTPs. I can relate to STPs fairly well.

An SJ that I like and can relate to, on the other hand, is extremely rare.

hahaha.... novel idea.

Actually, I've been told that when my one INTP friend and I get together, all the other people (who happen to be S types) want to leave (because of how and what we talk about, they're bored to death).

Maybe that is the perfect friendship to have. :D It's like a joint superpower: We come into proximity to each other and S types are allergic to the synergy.

So many examples of this in my life. From the recent ones, invitation to a "meeting", which we didn't expect to turn into a party. So we are upstairs and thinking about all the noisy people coming and calling for drinks.

There was a collective decision that it's not going to ruin our time, we take our playing cards, books and start playing, while there is a party in proximity.

Now and then groups of surprised people come and go watching us play and trying to understand what are we doing when they are having fun, with some bolder comments like, "you are so boring!", "let's dance", etc. They all left the room and we spent very little time on them as a result.

I generally don't mind STP's or SFJ's. They sometimes have issues with superficiality and stereotyping, but they more or less think similarly(Ti/Fe).

It's the STJ's and SFP's who I usually cant stand, especially ESTJ's and ESFP's. What's annoying with them is that have no clue where you are coming from, but you can understand them to a degree since you are an Intuitive.

Attitude rather than location or something else?
"I can't control other people's annoying attributes. I can only control my own reaction to them."

Although I admit that often boils down to "There's just no explanation for asshattedness, so I'm going to ignore it."

Are you an INTP? Why not be yourself? If a sensor talks sense hit them back with a generality.

When a sensor talked about his favorite wine to me I didn't know anything. I'm not going to say my favorite drink. I said different tastes are interesting. Get him out of his sensor mode. I asked him what type of wine is good and bad and why. That made me feel better. I don't remember his answer but eventually he shut up.

Yeah, their disgusting for harmony can be annoying sometimes. And STJs are a separate species of human from INTPs.
