I just wrote in another topic: "My sense of time is inferior."

How is yours?

- Can you remember what you had for dinner 4 days ago?
- Can you predict how long it will take to drive to the nearest cinema?
- How often do you check what time it is?

In my case, I compulsively check time. It is a location locator. Because where I am depends on how long it takes me to get to a new location. Is this weird?

How is y'alls perception of time?

Objects in the mirror might look closer than they
- No, i can't for me it's almost impossible to remember what i ate yesterday.
- Yes i can, i use google maps or i just try to imagine the route and make inner approximations, so i believe what i check there is space, well and time but whatever.
- I have a sense that tells me, check it, you have to do something so i'll check it just in that moment, "i don't care that much" about time.
Gonna eat now, see ya.

I am excellent at estimating travel time but that's the end of it. I am very bad at estimating the amount of time a given task will take.

My time perception is almost always oriented towards work and how many hours/minutes/seconds/years I have left in a day before I can go home. At home, my time perception switches from moving too slow, to moving too quickly.

I can usually nail down specific details such as important dates from years past (ones that were important to me) however I'm not so good at remembering details from two-three days ago.

When I was younger I would have these moments where I consciously decided: "ok I will remember this moment forever" even though they are of little real significance I have managed to do so for spans of over 15 years. Like once in fifth grade looking at the rays of the sun on the B.C. flag. pinned to the classroom wall. Pinned to the wall, so to speak, for no reason at all.

I can tell what time currently is or was at a time I did something during the day.
I can estimate walk/run times I need very well and I have a standard error when it comes to approximations of car travel times.

Remembering is separate from telling time. I don't remember what I had for dinner yesterday and I almost never remember such things.

I won't remember what clothes I have been wearing or what I have heard when passing by, unless I can deduce it from the context and information I have, or I spend a substantial amount of time, trying to remember, which I don't, because I don't really care what food happened to me a few days ago, etc. Nothing of interest or importance, but sometimes it is troublesome as others seem to remember such details.

Similarly to BG, I have bits of unconsequential moments that are in my memory because of some kind of decision or circumstances.

The rest I would say is standard, remembering important and interesting things comes naturally.

Seems relevant:

On the types perception of time:

Perception of Time

INTPs and other xNPx types have a detached perception of time and tend to see the past-present-future as a continuum. They have a historical perspective and set their goals to accumulate memories and achievements that can be viewed from an autobiographical context.
INFJs and xNJx types have a future directed perception of time where the past and present are seen as contributing factors to a vision. They view time as a finite resource and strive to accomplish their goals to directly experience the success in the limited time they have.

I speculate it would be based off of the dominant perceiving function of a person, not the judging? Just a guess.

I like the way the picture puts it anyway.
