Would it be possible to eliminate the number of Downloads and Uploads (what's it good for anyways?) under the avatar and replace it with the gender? It would save some bit of confusion, I think.

It is a mechanism/storage facility hack, called Downloads II for members to place items they wish to share. No-one has used it so it may as well go.

As to the original question I have no opinion either way. In my experience, girls on the internet have absolutely no difficulty in revealing their femaleness whatever their true sex.
