Is your MBTI Type based on nature, nurture, or a combination? If nature, does anyone know what the determining factor is?

I think, when it comes to me, it is based on an interplay between both.
In fact, i think that is true for almost all people who live outside of a vacuum.
"No man is an island."
It's just a matter of balance.
If your personality tends to be leaning towards the nature side of the matrix,
i'd say it is genetics.

The Dutch Famine Birth Cohort Study, carried out by the departments of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Gynecology and Obstetrics and Internal Medicine of the Academic Medical Centre in Amsterdam, in collaboration with the MRC Environmental Epidemiology Unit of the University of Southampton in Britain, found that the children of pregnant women exposed to famine were more susceptible to diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, microalbuminuria and other health problems.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch_famine_of_1944#cite_note-6

I think (spiritual) evolution is all about filling up the gap between nature (potential) and nurture / culture (actual).

In my case I'll bet I started out sensitive to and wary of my environment ... not all that friendly. This would cause me to withdraw to protect myself. If I had reached out or been able to reach out and happily interact with my environment things might have worked out differently. Nature would be the starting off point. Nurture would deal with that.

If I became fond of thinking, it may be because I hadn't the slightest idea of what was going on and thinking seemed the golden key to find out and raise myself up out of ignorance. Other choices must have been less available but just what were they? ... I'd have to think about that.

i can't imagine it could ever be anything but a combination of the two, as is anything in life.
too many factors determine who we are, and our personality type is no different. you may call it nature vs. nurture, but i prefer to call it neurochemistry vs. environmental psychology.
people are complex animals. that's all i can really say.

I'd say 80% nature, 20% nurture.

And yes, genetics. Hormones, neurotransmitters and all that shizzle.

why is anything a cup?
A cup is a holder of whatever you put in it. The heritage of nature is a holder for whatever you put in it. One could also say it is a foundation for whatever is built onto it.

so you're saying nature is prior to nurture and nurture is variable in relation to the constant of nature? yeah. agreed.

Yes. I've heard about some subtleties about how nature can be modified or even manipulated but I forget how that is done.
